It was NOT the time of our lives...but it's still DISNEY! Final thoughts!

I left us off after we had finally picked up the cake from the Boardwalk Bakery where my entire surprise was ruined and now the Aerosmith concert was cancelled. We took a cab home and the rain had stopped by the time we got to POP and it was a really beautiful night. Earlier that day, dbf and I got some paper plates, folks and plastic knifes from the food court and brought them into our room for this occasion.

We got in, I took some photos of the cake:

and we dug in. It was delicious; again it was an almond flavor cake with Bavarian filing. The only is that fondue is really really sweet… so we just ended up eating around it.
I gave front desk a call to see if they’d hold our cake in one of their fridges so I wouldn’t have to take ours apart and we were told no. However, we could rent a mini fridge for 10.00/night…

With that, a fridge was brought up to our room within 5 minutes. We rented a fridge. We had to cut off the top part of the cake and move the shelf around.. but eventually it fit!!

Now, that we were on a sugar high (INSERT SMILEY FACE). We settled into our PJ’s, Dbf planned out our morning attractions on the DHS map and we laid down in bed to watch some family channel.

Before I fell asleep that night, I told myself that nothing/nobody was going to ruin my day tomorrow… but little did I know, it would be us who ruined the day!!!

Wow - I must say, I actually love your Roots photos. They are classic Roots style, which I adore.

While personally I think your hair looks great, if the style was not to your liking, I can see how you maybe wouldn't be thrilled with a close up, as in photo 1.

However, with photos 2 & 3, given that they are taken from a distance, and your hair is not front and centre, maybe when you see them printed you will change your mind. Like I said, I think they are great!!!

I look forward to seeing the whole bunch of them once you get the CD. Although given the rainy weather, I guess if you only ended up with the 3 you have shown, I'd say those were definitely worth it!

That first picture is the ONLY picture where i actually like my hairstyle.. the other two are some of our favs. for that exact reason that they are taken far away which focuses less on hair/make up and my double chin.

Good morning Sweets, is what I said to Dbf that morning! Nothing, I mean NOTHING was going to ruin this day, I just knew it. We usually get up between 6:00A-6:30A. I was the first one up, contrary to all of our usual trips. Dbf was clearly still exhausted from traveling and working right before we left. I’m not going to lie, I felt like he was a tab bit miserable. First thing I did was open the door of our room to check out the weather. Last I check, it was scheduled to have scattered rain all day. I was definitely impressed to see this even with the fog:

It was already hot and no rain as of yet. As soon as I turned around to head back into the room and start to get ready.. I seen this:

How depressing, we were leaving tomorrow. Talk about a mood killer. Hmmm…..

We got ready and headed over to have breakfast. We each had an omelet and bacon (which was really greasy)….which was great because it’s food that is a part of my diet.

Here I am waiting for the bus. You will notice that my hair is STILL styled curly, I was way to tired to wash it and blow dry it straight… beside it was going to rain.. then I would have done all that work for no reason. I just threw it in a pony with a headband to keep it out of my eyes.

Woot Woot, The bus was here in no more than 5 minutes

We were officially headed to our first park, Dbf’s choice: Disney Hollywood Studios.

Hey Rach, just catching up!!! I can not believe how much they screwed up the surprise for you BF!!! WTH? And after all that the show was cancelled anyway?? You poor thing!!!

I have to say that the pics you posted from the roots shoot from what I can tell love really good, and you do NOT look over weight in the least!!!

Awwwww I just love the umbrella picture too! It is hard to see them (size) but I really like the style. It is so unfortunate that with all of the other snafus ( I can't believer I just used that word! ) it wasn't what you had in mind but hopefully there are some that you like and then maybe you can get them done again?
So happy that Grams tumor is not spreading and hopefully the hearing/speaking is just a little setback...maybe from the chemo? Here are more hugs for her

Tracy, There are at least 20-30 that we like and will frame and put around the house...I'm actually excited to get some take in Ottawa especially with Stella our puppy.

We thought it was from the chemo but we've been told it's not.. grams is a bit confusing when telling me information

That's what we managed on the first night.. WE were really shocked on how sugary it was.. we were truly ... We' manage to get through about 3/4 of it in 24 hours and then left the rest with housekeeping.

Ohhhhhh! I really hope things start to turn around here at some point!

I've been talking to grams for the past couple of nights.. she seriously cracks me up.. I love her so much.. she always sounds so happy when i call. She goes for Chemo tomorrow morning but she has a cold.. and apparently she's gained 2 pounds up to 117 now!!!

Isn't it funny how life goes full circle...for most of our lives we are trying to lose weight and now grams is trying to gain it!

I love your Britney shirts!! It looks like you still had a great view!! One time I had a seat like that where you could see the whole stage and they had all sorts of cool stuff being projected on that nobody who was down on the floor could've seen! Sometimes those kinda seats are still pretty dang good!

Also, from what I could see, I really liked the pictures! But they were really small and it was hard to see.

I'm scared to hear about what happens on your park day!! The cake looks fabulous though! I want a bite! LOL

We left off as we were catching the DHS bus from POP,

A short, cramped bus ride and we were looking at this,

We had obviously arrived before the 9:00Am rope drop. As we were waiting in line, which were relatively short, I snapped a photo of this.

There was NEVER anyone anywhere near the pre-screening.. and it was a tab bit annoying every time the American Idol song played searching for candidates like every 5-10 minutes.

While were waiting to get in, what else is there to do but snap photos of this and look over the map,

Finally we were in and first thing on our to do list was get a locker. For some reason, I always feel like everyone will be rushing to get a locker..

but I was wrong. No one was.. just us… Here’s some photos I snapped while Dbf loaded the locker.

Next we headed down to watch the rope drop show, and surprisingly we were besides the same families who were equal to us in line. Huh.

The opening act is okay.. kinda boring once you’ve seen it more than a few times…so I snapped some more photos…

Now the plan was to head over to TSM grab fastpasses and ride. On the way there, I seen a couple of characters Minnie being one of them… I asked Dbf if we could stop real quick to get some photos.. and he snapped at me with a rude comment which set me off.

That’s right, our fresh start to the day really started with World War 3 in WDW.​

I won’t go into details it was a pretty bad one.. Regardless, we fought and then moved on. Hmm….

On a side note, Dbf is taking me shopping for a dress for his co-workers wedding this coming Saturday (talk about last minute). Kelly and I searched this weekend, I liked a couple at BCBG but I ultimately bought a Michael Kors (NOW I WANT A PURSE TOO) here’s my dress

Okay, so I ended up buying a pencil skirt and a fancy top from Club Monaco. Which is more my style and I feel so comfortable in it. Who says you have to wear a dress?

Hmmm… Okay.. back to the TR

We fought; it lasted way longer than it should…. During this epic battle Dbf stood in line for the Fast passes WHICH TOOK FOR EVER…

While Dbf stood in line… I decided to take some photos.

It’s a known thing in our household that no matter what happens we ALWAYS, always chose the slowest line EVER which was the case here. Dbf said each person in front of him was literally collecting between 8-12 Fast Passes and then there was a few people who didn’t know how it worked and a CM had to come over and help… as I’m standing there watching him.. all the other lines are flying threw.. oh well…
Another 5-10 Minutes later, our fast past time was 11:45AM. I was about to get run over, here’s my attempt to show everyone.

As we were leaving, the wait to ride TSM was already at over an hour and the fast pass line was probably just as long, damn it. If we would have stopped to see those characters we probably would have been in line for over 30 minutes JUST TO GET FAST PASSES… so now, it’s a good thing we didn’t.. but boy o’ boy was I mad.

Then angrily we made our way back to the characters who were gone so we headed towards Rock N’ Roller Coaster….where we sat down and tried to talk it out…

Oh, I'm really sorry to hear that you guys fought...that's just so unmagical!

I've never fought w/ my husband at Disney, but you know what? We've taken lots of cruises where we always seem to get into it. I don't know what it is about getting on a ship, but after like 4 days we have an argument about something very stupid (like what to wear or what show to go to that night - seriously stupid!) We always make up right after, but it happens almost every time....maybe it's the sea air or all the bingo, who knows?

Yuck. There is nothing worse than fighting with a loved one on vacation. In the back of my head I am always thinking, "Really? Right now? We're supposed to be having fun..." I hope it works out and you finish the day on a good note.

TSM lines are crazy. I guess that is what happens when it is a new ride that everyone is talking about. I'm impressed that you made it to rope drop. We never managed to do that once on our trip.

I can believe that so many things can happen, but I can't believe the attitude of the cm's who were not able to do their jobs or who were rude! Completely surprising as disney is usually known for great customer service!

I am glad your cake was good! I ordered one for my daughters birthday and was totally disappointed in the outcome.

I must also agree that the pictures you posted are lovely!! It's hard when you don't look like "yourself, but oh my you both look fantastic in the ones you posted!!
