It was all started by a towel...

Hmm.

I need to do a little tweaking. Some friends of ours who were going to be at WDW in August have had to cancel their trip. :guilty: So now I have an ADR that needs to be changed.

We might meet up with some local friends, but we aren't sure about schedules. So I am not sure what to do about booking a different ADR. I don't know how many people to book for.

I wanted to do signature, DH wants counter service. Obviously we need to sort this out.

We decided to cancel Coral Reef on Saturday and replace Boma with Citrico's on Sunday. We have been to Coral Reef numerous times, and while we like it, we won't miss it if we skip it this year.

We'll see if I can leave things alone now. :rolleyes1

For two months??? :rotfl2:

Apparently I didn't make it much more than two HOURS. :lmao:

Since a dear friend was kind enough to point out that I had cancelled 2 TS and only replaced one of them, I felt it was my Disney Duty to book another TS. So on a day where we had NO ADRs, I booked lunch at Sci Fi.

It is an AM EMH day at MGM, so we'll probably grab those softball-sized muffins at Writers Stop in the morning. DS really enjoys Sci Fi, so we'll plan to have burgers and milkshakes for lunch. No plans for dinner. I REALLY debated adding a lunch or dinner at Brown Derby, but I think DS will be MUCH happier with Sci Fi.

:laughing:We have to look out for each other. My kids LOVE Sci Fi. I don't have an ADR there for my questionable Aug trip but I didn't have one in May and we ate there thanks to the CL staff.....

Although they weren't very accomodating with my dietary needs Sci Fi was perfect for Brandon, he loved the Movie setting.

I actually made that ADR myself through Dining, too. A bit later than I would have liked, but not too bad. I guess we can always show up early and see if they can seat us.

I am sorry they weren't more help with your diabetes! :guilty:

I don't think we went to Sci Fi last year. I think we went the year before. Maybe. Probably the Aug. '07 trip when we had "free" dining. I remember DH and I split a rather dry turkey sandwich, and a side of the cucumber melon salad. The salad was good - it isn't as weird as it sounds. DS had a burger and fries. This time we will ALL get burgers and fries and be done with it.

So I got home and realized IPO booked my Citrico's dinner for September instead of August. :scared1: I was able to fix that by calling Dining myself. Today I have called IPO, Dining, Member Services, and Dining again.

Hey, Elin? Think I will be able to leave it alone now? :rotfl2:

Seven weeks from tomorrow we will be on Magical Express on our way to AKV!!! :yay:

I am sure I have forgotten to do something or book something or document something. Or something.

These weeks leading up to the trip are the worst. There seems to be no end to the mischief I can get into.

Last Thursday DH found a kitten. There was a HUGE thunderstorm (8 inches of rain). When he went to work there was a kitten under one of the trucks. So he lured it out, captured it, and put it in his backpack. (Because that was the logical thing to do, right?) He called me and told me he needed the cat carrier. So like an idiot, I took it to him. He popped the cat in the carrier and put the carrier in MY CAR! :scared1: We have 2 cats. Don't want another cat. But we all like this little cat, so I guess he is staying.

Yesterday I was bored. So I called and did a 50 point add-on to our AKV contract. Then I sat and went through the 2010 point charts so I have a plan and an alternate. I have to call for our villa in 2 weeks, so there was no time to lose! :bitelip:

But there are still 45 days left for me to get in more trouble! :rolleyes1

Our kitten has officially been named Zazu. He had his first round of vaccines yesterday. The vet says he is a healthy little kitty. :) I have advised our pet sitter of our new arrival so she will not be surprised. Our one adult female (Arabella) finds him rather entertaining. Our other female (Aurora) finds him distinctly NOT entertaining. :rolleyes1

Our add-on paperwork is signed, dated, notarized, and on it's way back to DVC. YAY for more points!! :dance3:

The plans I had for 2010 are not as set as I thought they were. I only have 2 weeks to debate about it, though, so I need to decide what I am doing.

DH broke his sunglasses, but he seems to have repaired them. I offered to get him new ones for Father's Day since he isn't buying into the story about the cat (OR the points) being his present. He doesn't want new sunglasses. He wants some camera lens that is quadruple the price of new sunglasses! :scared1: I think NOT.

Speaking of sunglasses, I have the most horrific stye on my left eyelid. It is grotesque and disfiguring. It also hurts! If it doesn't go away in the next 6 weeks I will be wearing sunglasses myself - 24/7 - while we are at WDW! I have ongoing problems with styes in that eye, and so far the best the eye Dr. can come up with is "use a hot compress". Yeah. Because THAT works. Not.

I am looking into adding one of the "dessert party" things at MK. I alled IPO to add it yesterday, but surprise! They aren't booking it yet! So I e-mailed them and asked them to book it. Hopefully they will comply with that request. The guy I spoke to yesterday told me to call back Monday, but I don't really WANT to call back. I want them to book it when the ADRs open up, then I want them to e-mail the confirmation. We shall see how this goes.

I know for a fact that the view from Terrace Noodle Station is at least partially obstructed because we have watched Wishes from there before. I was also concerned that the dessert offering might be on par with the inedible pre-packaged brownies from Casey's. :scared: The CM I spoke with yesterday phoned MK Guest Relations and they told him the desserts will be freshly prepared - not pre-packaged.

I figure we will book it, and if the reports during July are bad I will cancel it. Well, that WAS my plan, until I read where someone said they were told it would be non-refundable. Again, we shall see!

IPO sent my dessert party confirmation this afternoon, so we are all set! Some friends also booked the party for that night, so it sould be fun! :yay: The cancellation policy is 24 hours. Hopefully we will know well before then if we are going to cancel. I am sure there will be folks reporting back through the month of July.

My updated itinerary showed one ADR at the wrong time. Since IPO was closed I called Dining to check it. It turns out it was in the system under a new ADR #, and the one I had cancelled actually hadn't been cancelled. DH says no wonder there is no availability at the restaurants.

Yawn.

It appears I have been sucked into some sort of vortex where time stops. Nothing else to plan. I do still need to book the resort photo shoot. Maybe.

My eye is still a disaster. I went to a different eye Dr. today. I saw one back in February who was NOT terribly helpful, so I am done with her. The guy today was much more helpful, prescribed some meds, and told me to come back in 2 weeks. Of course the problem with that is that he intends to take a scalpel to my eyelid if the styes haven't resolved! :scared1: I am not sure I WANT my eyelid sliced open 3 weeks prior to WDW. :scared: I am hoping maybe the meds will do the trick. I am thinking I can live with marginal improvement - the styes don't need to be COMPLETELY gone. I would just like to be able to take off my sunglasses without scaring people.

Just swinging by from the photo board---so exciting that you guys decided to keep the kitten, we all knew you would as soon as you started snapping pics!

I think I'm with DH on this one. I've got that lens and it is veeeeeeeerry nice. :thumbsup2 Well worth the quadruple price tag. :rotfl2:

Welcome!! Sorry there are no pics here yet! DH will remedy that situation in just over 5 weeks. ;)

DH needs to pick a system before he buys ANYTHING. I told him there is NO WAY he is going to spend that kind of money on a lens, then decide he isn't really going to use that camera. He was SURE he didn't want to keep the Sony, now he is using it. :sad2: As it is, he is going to have a VERY hard time carrying all of his gear on the plane. I carry the laptop, so he is on his own with the photo equipment.

In other news...
Our ME tags have arrived! Well, 3 of them. I phoned this morning to let them know I am checking MINIMUM 4 bags so they need to send more tags. The lady was very nice. I was surprised that the ME packet arrived so early, but I suppose that is a good thing since they didn't send enough tags!
