It the RPR being refurbished?

I am sure I have read that RPR is having the rooms re-done, anyone know any any more about this. What is being done, how long it will take, if any rooms have been finished yet, is it inconveniencing guests!!

they were supposed to start the last week of June....haven't read any reports to update... i'm sure if you call them, they would know (just be sure to let US know what they said so we can help others like you!)

When we put in a room request at the weekend we received an e:mail back stating that our requested room would not be available due to the impending refurb.
Apparently it is due to start soon and the seventh floor of block one will be the first to be done.

Is tower 1 the building closest to walkway and with good views of the Hulk rollercoaster? I asked for a high floor too. Should I change my request? This is our first time on site, any advise? We would like to be close to the pool with a view of the park.

yes it is...and i don't know what Tower they are starting in...you can always call them and ask. Explain to them you are trying to get your family hooked on coming to UO and staying onsite and it's your first stay..etc....(play the sympathy card) and ask them about the renos and where they plan to stick you and advice if you should change...they will help you...since the reno is new/just starting, we are, unfortunately, not very helpful (at least not until the DISers going/ones that are there, can report back. good luck

Bubba's Mom are you saying that Tower 1 IS the tower with views of IOA? I requested the tower at top or 6th level with veiws of IOA is this going to be this tower? I'm there on Monday and now this is freaking me out a little, thanks in advance.

Yes, Tower 1 faces the Hulk at IOA...it is closest to the parks (well, the pathway anyway) Last year we were in room 1728(i think) and we could lay in bed and see Hulk & lighthouse out our window...let me find our room number and view...brb....

I sent an email to Brain Johnson. He was the manager at the Portofino Bay but now is located in Neveda. Anyhow, he contacted the manager at the Royal Pacific. They are looking at a completion date of December 22nd. For me, I will be arriving at the tail end of the renovations so I am hopeful that it will not interupt my stay.
