The alarm went off at 7am but because I had my purse stolen and didn't get to sleep till gone 3am it got shut off and I rolled over and went back to sleep! 8.30am and my mate is waking me up saying we need to get things sorted!!
Managed it down to breakfast around 9.15am to find that within my purse was our b'fast slot card!! They did let us in on production of our room card! Must say for New Years Day it was very quiet!!!
We checked out of the Sequoia and requested a taxi to take us to the police station, an hour later it arrived after 2 prompts from Concierge! That was a waste of time as the police didn't understand English so they called the Sequoia who explained that we needed a translator and could we come back to the hotel reception where they will supply one for us and take us back to the police station later in the day!
It was a very foggy and cold day and you couldn't see anything to be honest! We hung around the bar area at the Sequoia for about an hour and a half as we couldn't go and get a replacement AP until I had the police declaration! At 2pm we headed back to reception where they were waiting for us and took us to the Police station along with our translator who happened to normally work within Conference and Banqueting at the hotel but she spoke perfect English. We waited ages at the police station as there were quite a few people reporting stolen bags/purses and even money stolen from a hotel room!
At 4.30pm we returned back to the hotel to collect our bags and headed off to the Holiday Inn to check in for the next two nights!
The holiday Inn were not too happy that I was no longer paying by credit card and wished to pay by Cash despite me insisting that my purse had been stolen and I had no cards on me! Eventually a manager came out to enquire what the problem was! I didn't think there was any problem with paying by cash but the receptionist seemed to think I couldn't do that as I had given my card as a guarantee when booking! Eventually they accepted the cash when I said theres no other way you are going to be paid for your room! Mate never carries cards so I suppose I could have phoned parents up and asked them to pay!!
We dashed to the room, dumped our stuff and then hurried to the park! Was surprised to find no queue at the AP bureau outside the studios, explained what had occured and all I had to do was produce the police report, and pay 15 and voila I had my pass back!
We then decided we were so hungry that we would visit Annettes before heading into the park for a couple of hours as by now it was 5.45pm. There was a little queue but it wasn't long before we were ordering Rock n Roll burgers and milkshakes!! Very scrummy and we also had Grease, Freedom and Elvis to listen to as well.
We headed into the park, couldn't see the castle at all as it was so foggy and cold and hardly anyone in the park! and managed to have a couple of goes on BTM before the park shut, we did inquire if they had found my purse but no luck but City Hall did offer to replace 2 of my lifetime fast passes, better than nothing I guess!!
We then decided to try and forget all that had happened and continue with our holiday.
We thought we were going to have a lovely kip that night as the bed was so comfy at The Holiday Inn and we were so tired but we were in a corner room that could also be interconnecting and the family of children in the room next door decided to waggle the door handle all night so it sounded like someone was coming in our room! We decided to push the table and chairs right by the door just in case! By now it was 2am and these children were still at it so we banged on the door and not sure if they understood but we said in English please stop, we're trying to sleep. We had peace till 6am!
