I struck up a conversation with a CM 2 weeks ago at Disney Studios while waiting for the Block Party to began. As we were saying our goodbyes she gave us a fastpass for the entire family to ride whatever ride we wanted. I was like Awesome.....:cool1: We chose to ride Star Tours....

so remember start up a conversation with a CM; you never know what will happen. :)

You met the right person at the right time:) Good for you..just a little Disney magic:)

We always have a more magical time when we stop to talk to CMs.

One time, we were talking to a CM at the pin trading station in Epcot. Two days later, we saw her at DTD when she was off work. She stopped us and gave us a Cast Exclusive pin.

We've also had CMs give us fast passes, my son was given a candy bar at the store by Haunted Mansion, my kids were also asked to make Mickey Rice Crispies in the candy shop. We've also received pins from CMs in the parks.

One CM told me that she really appreciates it when guests take the time to talk to her, versus those that ask to see her trading pins and never even look at her face.

I often wonder if our conversation with the CM at the EPCOT gate is what lead us to being Family of the Day!?!?! We were first in line at the turnstile and I started talking to the CM - then he started asking questions about our trip - it was our last day and we had not "received" any surprises for the whole week.He went on and on about what a shame that was and how a sweet looking family should get something. He went on to ask us what we planned to do first in the park. He then excused himself and turned away and talked into his microphone - I didn't think much about it then - thought he was getting the go ahead to open the gates. Well we said goodbye and walked on to the rope drop. While standing at the rope I saw CM come out to welcome and then he walked straight up to us and asked how many was in our party - when we told him 4 he asked if we would like to be FAMILY OF THE DAY AT EPCOT!!!:cool1: :cool1: It was the start to a long fun day! Perhaps it was just a coincidence with the gate CM - but I often wonder!

My DH and I talked to the DVC lady at Animal Kingdom last time we were there - she was very nice! After about 20 minutes (when she went on break), she pulled out a bag and gave us 6 pins and 6 "instant" fastpasses (put the card in the fastpass slot, and get a fastpass for that exact time). It was awesome!

I also got a free pin at the Orlando airport because I was singing "it's a small world" while waiting in line. XD

We have talked to CM's alot, our family of four has gotten hooked on pin trading, but there are rules. And rule number one is please and thank you when asking to see CM pins. That way your speaking to them and not just the pins. And usually it will turn out something like " Where are you folks from? " and conversation goes from there, and sometimes really interesting !! From finding out that they are from where you are, to meeting you in the park at a place they tell you to be at two days later, just to help you finish off a pin set you just cant seem to find the last one of !  Letting you know that something special is about to happen, really close to where you are, all the way to being able to get Tink's autograph for your daughter, that I thought would never happen !! Talking to CM's has turned out great for us, remember, In the world of fantasy and make believe, they are people too !

It was the first day of our trip, and we spent it at AK. While waiting for the Lion King show to start, which happens to be our favorite show, my DH started talking to this man sitting next to us. (my DH talks to everybody!) Well this young man happen to be one of the main cm's of the show and was there early to see his friend perform. He invited us to stay for the next show to watch him, we were allowed to stay in the building inbetween the two shows and then were given front row seats. After the show he invited us to meet all the cms in the show. They were all wonderful, it was so hot and they were all in contume still, but they posed for pictures with us and took the time to speak to us. We were the only family there so we felt really special. My dd's are all performers so for them this was a real treat. It was such a magical way to start off our week.

Thank you for all the informations here, we will go there next September, so glad to know these...

We will be extra friendly in hopes of something magical happening when we take my dd for her graduation next year.

Last July my family and I were at the Magic Kingdom waiting in line for a ride in Fantasyland and the CM noticed my laminated papers (TGM info) and started asking questions about them. I told him all about my planning and TGM and he asked if we had gotten to ride any of the Mountains yet, I told him not yet but that was on our agenda. He reached into his pocket and gave us Fast Passes. We were all excited because nothing like that had ever happened to us before.

One year, my brother lost his new Stich pin he had gotten, it was one of those expensive limited edition pins and he lost the reciept as well (Disney will give you another pin if you lost it, if you show them the reciept). He was upset and he went back into the store in order to get another one. He ended up talking to one of the CMs and telling them what happened. The CM felt bad about it and gave him one of her own Stich pins.

Isn't it cool what some CMs do for guests? We took the Keys to the Kingdom tour last October, and it happened to be Epcot's 25th anniversary that day. I had such a great time on the tour, and we had a fabulous tour guide, Matthew. He was so funny and sweet. I asked lots of questions and apparently he got a kick out of me - when the tour was done, he asked my friend and I to stay for a few minutes after everyone else had left. He said he had enjoyed my being on the tour so much that he wanted to give me his cast-exclusive (never knew that term before!) pin commemorating Epcot's anniversary. How nice of him! It really made my day. These interactions are so cool.

While I was waiting behind the red ropes to see the princesses, a kindly CM and my family chatted. He was very nice, and made waiting a lot easier. :)

Last year we were hemming and hawing about doing the single rider or regular line for EE at the entrance to the attraction. Matthew saw us and asked us to follow him. He took us through the fast past line and rode with us in the next available car. Then after the ride was over, he asked us if we had a few minutes and took us to the control room. We were shocked to say the least. The control room CM expalined how it all worked to us. I should have taken pictures, but I think I was in shock. It was amazing :)
