It pays to keep checking!!!

Theses Dis boards have been such a great source of tips. I had to post about my success so others would learn too. I read a lonnnng time ago that it's worth checking the airline websites over the weekend, late at night..."off times" as sometimes the rates change. Well guess what...it's TRUE!!

A mth or so ago I booked our airfare as 2 separate 1 way trips. At the time, I got just what I wanted for the trip TO Disney...but for returning home the only nonstop flight available at the low internet fare left at 7am. UGH!

By booking the trips separately (vs roundtrip airfare) I thought it would be easier to exchange if later flights became available for the return flight. Sure enough, last night didn't they open up a later nonstop flight...at the low internet rate!! I was able to make a quick change of reservations on the web site, no add'l $$ needed, and now we don't have to get up in the middle of the night to leave FL!!!!!! I am so happy.

And this morning...you guessed it...the low internet rate is no longer available for that nonstop flight!!!!

I'm guessing Southwest....only airline I know you can change without penalty...but will pay the price of the new ticket or get a travel credit back. This happened to us...booked at one way for $111, then a week later a DING fare showed up for $35 one way...gotta love the big travel credit I've got now...DH understood it to mean...woohoo! another vacation! I sure do love that man!
