It pays to complain

Last week, DD and I went to Garfield's for dinner. I strayed from my usual Fiesta platter and got the lasagna. It was horrible! DD got the kid nachos, horrible also. We left without even barely eating. So when we got home I went to their website and filled out the comment card. I explained the problems we had and noted that we usually love eating there. Well today I got an email from them. Enclosed was a $35 GC. :) Our original meals were only $15.

We're going back on Friday, getting appitizers, entrees and desserts. :) (There is no change from the GC. We can only use it for that one visit.) Then heading off to see Rugrats to Wild.

Nice to know that they practice good customer service!
Have fun!

That is a nice gesture from them. Hope all is better this time.

LOL I am just answering new questions/posts and you were right ahead of me. I'll go back 3 pages now! ;)

Your thread title worried me. You should add that it pays as long as you're not rude. I think customer service is changing, and fewer and fewer companies are letting customers run all over them. It's about time. Rude people get nothing from me, even if they have a legitimate complaint. People who are nice receive special treatment and discounts. I refuse to play any part in the propagation of rude, abusive behavior.

I agree with the good vet, it pays to complain with good manners. I had my annual smashing good time in April, and the insurance sent me a "You owe $40.00 still" which they said was a charge for something they did not feel was necessary. Sure enough, I got a bill from the place for $40.00. When I called to question what it was, they said "Well your doctor ordered it, we do a digital enhancement of the xray" They said that with out having the info in front of them. But they offered to pull it up and for me to call back in 24 hours. In the meantime, I call the Dr. They only ordered a screening mamo, nothing else, and they didn't need the enhancement, because it was just routine. When I called the next day, the girl answering the phone was very nice and insistant that the Dr had ordered it. When I told her that he hadn't, she finally pulled up the records. Then she decided that they "Have to" do the extra thing. I was also very polite and told her that while that may well be for them, the Dr did not order it, the insurance won't pay for it, and I was not told when I got the xray that I would be getting the extra enhancement, and that they had never done it in the past. I stayed calm and told her since the lab had not told me about it, that I did not feel I needed to pay for it. She put me on hold, came back and said the supervisor told her to remove the charge. I think that had I gotten defensive with her, or yelled at her, I would have had to pay. And believe me, it wasn't the forty bucks that irked me, it was that they just decided to add it on.

I have also used various web sites to complain about things, but I also send in positive comments when I get good things. It pays to be nice, too.

PS Doc Rafiki long time no see.

It sounds like you were nothing but polite in your complaint. Enjoy your complimentary meal.
