Having woken today feeling pretty rough with a virus, an appointment at the local beauty salon, a dinner party for 10 to shop for and cook and a party that I don't want to miss tomorrow, I switched on the heating because it was so cold. The house started to warm up and so did I, when warm water dripped down on me from the kitchen light fitting!!! Ahhh.

The only pipework above belongs to the central heating sytem and British Gas say they'll be out "sometime today" Well thank you, that would be nice!!! So waxing cancelled, Tony delegated to shop when he finishes work at lunchtime in case we're still able to have dinner and I'll just wait - in the cold!

I think I'll go back to bed!

oh. Gill, you poor thing, have a huge hug of sympathy from me. I think you definately need a day in bed and a load of choccie. hopefully the gas men will be around soon with a very small bill and you'll feel better this afternoon.
If you're feeling better I'd try and get the dinner party reorganised to a restaurant, it can be very stressful trying to cook for 10 when you're feeling crap.

Well the Gasman has come and it's not the heating at all. The waste pipe at the back of the basin in Tony's bathroom had sprung apart - ooops! So he pushed it back in for me, sealed it and told me not to tell anyone And thankfully, the headache etc isn't as bad as this morning

Annie - I've made a Summerfruit Tiramisu and Crepes Suzette with Marmalade Ice Cream.

And I've turned the heating back on so I've warmed up - life looks brighter already.

We've got friends arriving in about an hour, so back off to the kitchen - I'm afraid my summerfruit cheesecake and strawberry/white chocolate dessert topped fudge brownies sound totally inadequate
