It is here....the end of the year

Today is the day...last day of school for my students Don't get me wrong, I had a fabulous year and my kids in my class were so wonderful I loved them and will cry to see many move on. But......it is time for a break both for teachers and for the kids. The pressures and expectations keep mounting and kids need time to be kids.
Teachers go back in my Bd. for the day on Monday to attend training and mtgs.....but then right after my mtg.....I head to Detroit with DH and my kids to go to Where Else??? MICKEY IT WON'T BE LONG NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
My question for my fellow Canadian DISrs is -- I have not been to the World on Canada Day, is there anything special I can expect to see at Epcot's Canada pavillion??

I totally agree on all counts. I'm taking my class on their year-end field trip to the science centre today. We also have to go in on Monday but we'll be meeting with our new school admin. so I expect it to be time well spent. We won't be going to see the mouse until November. You have a fantastic trip. What a great way to kick off your summer!

Congrats! The last day of school for kids here isn't until Tuesday, and teachers have to be at the school on Wednesday. I've never known school to go until right before Canada Day. We went back before Labour Day last September too.

We had a great last day today too! I'm like you, excited for summer, but it's sad to see my students go! One little grade one girl (I taught grade five this year) ran up to me, wrapped her arms around me and just sobbed saying she didn't want to leave school! I started to cry then. I'm teaching F.I. kindergarten next year, so I'm a little nervous to be doing something so different, but really excited too! We're at school until Wednesday though, a few meetings, but mostly just time to clean out our classrooms. Lots of classes moving, so we'll be busy.

I'm off to see Mickey later in July. Hope you have a wonderful trip!

We took out kids to the museum of Civilization last Wed. during the earthquake. To be honest, it wasn't that bad-thankfully!! I don't know what they would have at Epcot- hopefully something nice to celebrate. Make sure you wear your Canada t-shirts etc! This year we go right up until June 30th- ugh!!!

Our last day was crazy but in a fun way. They're all so excited. We have to go back on Monday for PA but that's it. We're doing an adult trip to Newfoundland in July and then family trip to Hilton Head in August.

I had a look at the calendar for next year and students are in class until June 30th!!
