It is February 22 and above 70 degrees today here in Tennessee. For the first time ever in February I needed to use the air conditioner in my car. I can't believe how warm this year has been. I am afraid that a year with no winter means a bad year for insects. I think I will sign my exterminator up to come monthly.

In the Memphis area, we have had the a/c on most of the winter! It hit 80 one day last week; we might have a couple of days this week with highs in the 50's, then right back up. But a few years ago we had a frigid, bitter winter and the insects were just as bad, if not worse than the milder winters.

We've had nearly an entire week with temps near or above 60 degrees. In Minneapolis. In mid-February. While we have had, in the past, one (or even 2) days in Feb with these kind of temps (maybe every 5-6 years), we've NEVER had a week of temps in February like this. For Minnesotans, that's shorts and t-shirts weather. Ice houses have had to be removed from the lakes as they are starting to melt. In February.

Something is very wrong.

yeah was mid 70's here in SWMO today and warmer tomorrow. BUT it is going to be a high of 45 degrees on Saturday-perfect for the 36th annual Sertoma Chili cookoff!!

It was 88 in Texas. My house a/c has already kicked on a few times this winter and it was too humid to open windows.

I'm in Virginia and I've had my upstairs air on all week. Only because I can't sleep when it's hot and stuffy and my room has been at 75 degrees without the air. I don't get any real airflow when I open the window because of how my house is designed, so the air goes on. But I don't really need it during the day--it's not too bad in the house just walking around.

It will be close to 70 here in central Pa by the weekend! My pussywillows are starting to bloom.

....and I'm jealous. It was 53 in Boston yesterday and felt like a heat wave. We took the kids to the playground, which is still covered in snow, just bc the sun was shining and it was over 45.

Last night I went for my daily bicycle ride wearing shorts and t-shirt after dark in February! 63° out still after the sun went down.

Last month I was riding with a short sleeve synthetic t-shirt, thermal long sleeve shirt, thick sweatshirt, jacket, and windbreaker.

Upper 70s here yesterday. (No AC yet though.) We usually get an outlier like this once or twice a winter, but this really has been a mild year. Not complaining though. I couldn't have asked for better weather for our new driver's first winter on the streets.

Yep.

Other than a few extremely cold days a few months ago, winter didn't exist here in Texas.
