I dont think I will ever be able to cruise another line again!!!!!
We just returned from the Glory Western....The ship is very nice..very clean...the food was great as was the service....
There were 11 of us total including my 3 dd's 10,5,and 1....MY dd10 said Disney would have been better....There were no shows
for the kids at all....the shows were horrible...The kids clubs were
small.....My advice is unless your kids are teen or older...dont do it....I am a DCL lover for life!!!!!

From talking to people and reading posts like this, I don't know if I would ever even try another. We're hooked and have no reason to even try. Join the club!

I guess maybe I'm reading this wrong? You say you loved it but your daughter didn't? What shows didn't she like? I thought all the shows were meant for kids. My girls (8 and 5) loved Disney Dreams, Golden Mickeys and we even had a comedian Ventriloquist who they saw and LoVED.

My girls LoVED the clubs and had a great time. Maybe she just didn't try all that was offered? Not sure I understand your post. It seemed a little contradictory(sp?)? Not trying to start a squabble...just confused.....

I think she is saying there were no shows on the Glory that were of interest to the kids, and that the kids clubs on the Glory were small. I don't think she was saying that about the Disney ships.

When we were on the Carnival Fantasy we thought the shows were geared more for adults.

They just returned from a cruise that was NOT Disney!

DCL would have been better - and that is who they will use from now on!

The shows on Carnivals Glory were horrible....sorry for the confusion...We have done Disney 3 times and have loved every
minute of it....We decided to try something different...Carnival
does not cater to kids at all.....they cater to those that can consume the most alcohol....I thought out of Port Canaveral it
would be different competing against Disney...boy was I wrong...

We never cruised any other line except for Disney, and had never been interested in cruising until DCL came into operation. We first cruised in 2000, and have gone again every year since. We won't be trying any other cruise line.

It is sort of like going to Six Flags or Kings Island after going to Disney. It is just not the same. My kids like the other amusement parks near by, but not the same.

We are Disney Fans forever! Although I worry about the prices for the cruise going up and up. So far we can still handle a 3 or 4 day cruise once a year, but eventually I am not sure. I hope we can. We love it! It is just pricey.

Oh and another thing....If you have a child under 2 there is no
babysitting for them during the day.....they have it after 10 at night and there is only 2 times during the entire the week that
you can take them into the club to play while you supervise them....ok so Disney has spoiled me!!!!

I'm sorry your kids didnt enjoy it...there is NOTHING Worse than kids who are unhappy on vacation!! Our kids did get a little mopey on the RCCL. But it stinks when the kids are bored or unhappy!! At least there is a line for you and your family!! :teeth: My bil and sil's kids have hated EVERY single vacation they have taken no matter what they've done with them! Can you imagine?? LOL

We've been on 10 different cruises on 4 different lines besides Disney and our kids preferred the kids club on Carnival to all of them *whispering * including Disney. I guess it's just what your kids like and what they dont but our kids preferred the Camp Carnival to any other line so far. We've done RCCL, Princess, Celebrity,Carnival and Disney with the kids. We did Norwegian alone and wont go that way again but except for the shows our kids loved Carnival. They LOVED the long big waterslide.

Anyway sorry..I wish you could have had the experience we've had on Carnival!! I hope my kids will like the Disney experience better this time on a 7 day without the inlaws than they did on the 4 day with the inlaws...if not..guess we'll just leave them home next time or maybe we should just send our kids with you? LOL

They did love the slide when it was open...The last day at sea we
had very high winds so no slide....the first day at sea it was
supposed to open at 10am....the girls were waiting in line and
noone showed...we called the info desk and around 1130..after
the girls left the pool...they opened it....on the port days it was
open from 12 - 5...of course we were in port and not on the ship....
After all is said and done we had a good time....not a great time..but a good time....we really enjoyed the ports more than
anything....
hydster....you can leave your kids here and take my kids....!!!!

LOL Txtara...I have a 10, 9 and 5 yr old! You still want them?? LOLOLOL!!

Yeah sometimes the slide thing was disorganized but my kids were so bummed out that hubby and I couldnt go down the Mickey slide with them. That was one thing I think we did every day we could on Carnival as a family! LOL

Glad you still had a good time and enjoyed the ports!!
