Me (Kathy- 52 yr old Disney lover and fanatic)
DS (Martha-as crazed as myself of all things Disney)
DF(Heidi-loves Disney but thinks Martha and I, sometimes, are crazy)
DF ( Wendy- her second trip with us and we loved having her come again)
DN ( Maggie- Martha and my niece on her first trip at age 21yrs)
DF(Sandy- Martha and Heidi's friend from Virginia who was meeting us there)
Pre trip information:
Martha and I can not seem to go a complete year with out visting WDW because of severe withdrawal symptoms which cause us to begin to see hidden mickeys in our every day lives.... (more on hidden mickeys later) We went last year (03) in October and had a wonderful time but we weren't sure how things would go for another trip in 04. This spring Martha was diagnosed with an illness that causes a physical disability as it progressess so we were not sure of what might happen and how fast things happened (illness wise) Her medicines help control things and we planned our annual trip to the "World". Then she decided to play in a benefit softball game...I know "WHAT was she thinking!"...and fell and tore her ACL. Well that put a whole new spin on our trip because now we were looking at handicap accessibility stuff, wheelchairs and scooters or having to cancel. "Cancel our trip!" shouted Martha "I think not!"...... so after rethinking things and making adjustments we went ahead with our PSs for the Hoop de do Review and the Candlelight Processional for all of us. I also wanted to take my niece to MVMCP while we were there and booked that for us while the other ladies made arrangements for the spa at the GF. We also made a PS at Boma's for our farewell breakfast (a tradition) We decided to play just about everything else by ear and see what happens..
Our flight was leaving Boston's Logan Airport on Thursday morning December 2 at 8:30 am...non stop to Orlando...DSM, DFH, and DFW were driving up from the Cape and I was driving down from NH so we decided to stay in Boston on Wedensday night in order to have a few extra hours of sleep. DNM was meeting us at the airport on Thursday morning...her nonbeliever mom was dropping her off..and DFS would meet up with us in Orlando. We arrived at the Holiday Inn just outside the airport at about the same time, checked in and had some dinner in the restaurant. I have stayed here before because this hotel has a stay, park and fly deal which works well for me when I go out of town and have an early morning flight out. Sure beats leaving NH at 4 am.
We all stayed in the same room and like overly excited kids we could barely sleep... so much for the good intentions of a good night sleep...there's always the plane..
