It finally happened...

If it was a black snake it was probably one of the ones we have under contract to entertain the Guests.

:rotfl2: Well Disney must have really blown the entertainment budget at POFQ :lmao:

LOL! In April I too saw my 1st snake in the world. My DH and I were taking a romantic stroll on the Boardwalk Gazebo area and there it was... One fairly large( to me anyway) snake. I ran and My DH went over to get a better look:eek:

They do say three is a crowd ;)

I'm with myjourney. We have alot of snakes(mostly harmless) so no fear here either. And as for keepin the mice away, well you can't beat them. And on the off chance one gets into you house...they are easy to catch, just grab the tail and hold on!

Ha, we were watching the movie they play at night on the beach at the WL and a huge snake slithered onto the beach. Luckily most people didn't notice it until it had nearly slithered away, but DD5 did, and I think she is scarred for life. Every time we talk about future travel plans, the first question out of her mouth is, "Are there snakes there?" So it goes like this:

"The beach."

"Are there snakes there?"

"Italy."

"Are there snakes there?"

"Grandma's house."

"Are there snakes there?"

LOL! I laughed so hard at this!

We live in Scotland so we don't see snakes at all. My DD has been here all her life so she is not familiar with them, although she hasn't panicked when we have come across them in Florida (which can also be a bit worrying!).

But I did laugh at her reaction the first time we saw one. She nearly stood on the dang thing coiled up on the path at the resort. Once I had yelled at her to watch where she walked she looked at me in disgust and said "What is a snake doing in Disney?" (in the tone of "how dare it be here!!" ) :lmao:

Well I suppose another way to look at it, phobias aside...

An average city's rat population eats millions of pounds of garbage (literally, millions). So you could have thousands of rats and mice running around Disney (sorry Mickey!) or millions of pounds of garbage...or some snakes.

See I was doing just fine in the snake thread. They really don't worry me much. and then you had to go mention RATS. :crazy2:
That is my phobia. Ugggghhhhh I hate them:crazy2:

I'm with your DD, Lee!! A giant mouse or two is fine, but snakes - no thanks!!

Claire :)

Snakes don't bother me either, seeing as we have one as a pet.

To those who like to stay on high floors or in resorts with interor hallways, it really doesn't matter. While they are more likely to get into a ground floor room, they get get on those high floors too. Surely you all read about the snake with nest and eggs on the 5th floor of the Contemporary.

* GULP* no actually I hadn't. :scared1: I'm not sure if I should go and google it or not!!

Claire :)

Its true though..floor level isn't going to stop them. Maybe deter a bit, but not stop.

I used to have pet rats and a friend of mine has snakes, neither bother me ;)

Pop Century 50's building facing the lake -- every morning i would go out to the smoking area, and every morning there was a snake laying in the shade of the bench. As soon as i approached, it would slither across to the grass/weeds of the lake ;)

I nick named him Kahn :)

We saw a good-sized yellow snake today on our keys to the kingdom tour. It was on the wall near the bridge at the entrance to liberty square, and our tour guide almost sat on it. Eventually, she encouraged it it slither down the back side of the wall into the bushes by nudging it with her riding crop.

It appeared to be enjoying the music at the show by the castle. It's head was bobbing up and down in time with the music.
