I have had some people say to me''' YOU ARE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD ???AGAIN??? WHY????

Around here people go to Myrtle Beach... year after year after year. Know what?..... I have NEVER BEEN THERE. I love The beach. Scott hates it.

We only just began the yearly pilgrimage to "THE WORLD" in 2004 after I sold the farm and I had the money to take us to Disney World. Now it is habit.. and it took only once.

Sure it is NOT THE CHEAPEST place to vacation. It's hot and crowded. I am stuck at POP Century again... but I am in Walt Disney World !!!
So why do I keep going back ????... It's like this.

Joshua has Autism.. he does not live a "Normal" life.. At LOT of days are a struggle if not terrible. BUT.... in Walt Disney World... he can be close to Normal.. and actually thanks to the GAC he is a VIP . He gets to ride maybe more rides than other kids there. But here is the thing.. I see him Laugh.. get excited. That makes it all worth it.

Another reason is his sister Sarabeth. I grew up with an Autistic Brother. I know what it is like to live with a person with a disability. Sometimes they embarrass you. BUT.... IN Disney World... She can forget about his disability to some extent. They can ride rides together... Disney has ways of making special things happen. So because her brother gets some "pixie dust" she gets a little "dust" on her as well. Fallout is good in this instance.

Lastly... I can act like a kid and not embarrass Sarabeth too much. I love the rides myself. I never went to Disney World as a child... we took NO Vacations because we were Farmers... and becasue of Terry ( My brother)
I am creating Memories for me and Happy ones for my kids. I am watching them grow up at Disney... and growing up too fast.

Hi Janet... I had a "slide show" posted in this update... But I just was not happy with it... so I removed it and am working on improving it.

Wow! I just happened to stumble onto your pretrip thread today, lol. It was your title that got me, hehe. I managed to get thru it all in one sitting which is a 1st for me. I loved part 1 and part 2 of why you go back. My oldest son has ADHD. Not as severe as Autism, but I can relate to the feeling and acting normal at WDW. Woohoo for Disney mail!!!!!!!
Also, I thought it was a funny thing when I pulled up your thread. I live in Montvale, VA...about 25-30minutes outside of Roanoke, lol. I've seen plenty of us DISer's from VA but never one so close!
Hopping on board, can't wait to read more updates!
