Hi all!

Me and DBF booked our FIRST EVER once in a lifetime florida trip in April 2013. We will be travelling down to Manchester on September the 15th 2014 and flying with Thomas Cook on the 16th, We will be staying for 2 weeks on Idrive in the Quality Inn, We wont have a hire car we are both under 25 the costs was just ridiculous so we will be relying on buses while there.

When we booked it seemed so far away, as if it wasn't even real!
But today I took a big step and... I bought my Disney Tinkerbell Suitcase!
Somehow it now all seems so soon and I feel I can start some kind of planning, It is also officially 316 days (countdown on my phone!) therefore less than a year so, why not start planning ey :)

I have so many questions though, I feel I am unable to make an itinerary as we have never been before so don't know which days are best for what and where is busy on what days? We booked for middle of September as we hope it wont be as busy as the school hoildays.

We will be getting a ticket which entitles us to get entry into all the Disney and Universal parks. I also want to go to Discovery Park.

Would like some guidance as to how to book ADR's before travelling?

Any helps or tips would be much appreciated.

Thank you all!

Beth :)

Our first ever trip is a month before yours... I'm already having fun planning (I started a blog today as another outlet for my planning excitement).

I love the idea of getting a Disney themed suitcase for our trip... not sure my DH will let me get away with that one though!

Have fun with your planning- I look forward to hearing about it on here! :)

Beth,

With busy or quiet days in the parks, there are usually good guides over on www.easywdw.com. The touring plans app also has some and various guide books do too, try either (or both!) of the 'unofficial guide to WDW' and 'The Brits Guide to Orlando' both are excellent. We stayed at the QI on I drive many years ago, I believe it has been taken over by Rosen, but even back then it was perfectly adequate, clean and comfortable, and tbh how long do you actually spend in the room !

Just to throw a spanner in the works ;-) we have hired a car via Sixt in Orlando, as they had no 'under 25 charge'. The shuttle bus from airport to garage was quick, seemless and so easy!

OP I would definitely look into this :) it might be tricky without a car.

Have a great time planning, we are there 10-18 Sept :)

Hi,

We have generally used the Touring Plans Crowd levels to plan our days in the parks, and they seem to have worked for us - well worth the $8 approx. investment!! We tend to have three days in the theme parks, then a day in the water parks/shopping/at the coast for a bit of a rest.

One piece of advice that seems to be fairly accurate is if staying off-site, avoid the parks with Extra Magic Hours, especially morning - visit the following day.

With regard to travelling, getting to Disney you would have to use the Lynx Bus no. 8 to SeaWorld, then transfer to a no. 50 that drops you at the Ticketing and Transportation Center (near to Magic Kingdom), from where you can use Disney Transport to the other parks. May also be worth checking with the hotel if they provide a shuttle bus, as the times may be convenient for you - if not, use the shuttle one way and Lynx the other.
