Issues with Lighthouse Point FROMMERS

Basically more then a half mile walk on the pier with no protection from sun and rain. Smell issues. They're not impressed with buildings and the beach.

Drink prices are reasonable.

100% this. Its a MUCH BETTER beach than Castaway. And to me the pier issue is waaaay overblown.

Agree. The beach was gorgeous and really surprised us on how nice it was. As a family of 4 with 2 kids (13 and 10) not a single person in our group complained about the pier. It is like 2% of the walking required at WDW and we had just left there so that might be why lol. All young kids were in strollers or wagons, even some much older kids were in wagons, so there was no shortage of those.

You know, I thought Disney blew it with that long pier, especially for those with mobility issues. But my wife and I did a 2 week Princess Land Sea tour in September with a ground of 16 people. We were the kids of the group at age 68. My wife and I rolled our eyes at the first breakfast seeing two participants in their late 70s in scooter, and a third in a wheel chair. We wondered how they could possibly keep up. Boy were we wrong. These folks wanted to see everything and their mobility issues, and less than idea accommodations were not going to stop them. At various times we paired up with all three of them and their spouses, including walking (or scooting) 2 miles round trip from the Washington Monument to the U.S Capitol and back. I guess it is a case of Mind over Matter.

No, but even with all the efforts, there are still places that are not really accessible. So yes, mind over matter when those additional challenges pop up.

We just hate the theming. It feels like the new Nassau welcome area at the port. It’s not Disney. And it’s not cute or fun, just touristy. The Bahamian culture presented is sanitized and packaged in a weird way that is just off-putting. Dumbed down.
