Issues with Disney seeing me as DVC owner

This is clearly a Disney IT issue, we've been unable to solve it since we've been members/owners starting in 2012.
me: ABC@Gmail.com for MyDisneyExperience
Husband: XYZ@Gmail.com for MyDisneyExperience

1). DVC bought and set up in 2012. Using my email log in ABC@Gmail.com Set up was easy. We make a reservation almost immediately and it's set up in my name and the reservation email goes to ABC@Gmail.com
2). Husband calls to get a DVC log in set up as well. He wanted to be able to buy discounted APs, etc. Sounds reasonable enough. He uses XYZ@Gmail.com to match his Disney account. The person on the phone understands and voila, XYZ@Gmail.com now logs into dvcmember.com
3). As soon as #2 occurs, my ABC@gmail.com no longer works. Honestly, we just deal with it for years. If I need to make a reservation I just log into "his" account at dvcmember.com All reservations are now in his name. Hilariously, when we make DVC reservations, the emails STILL go to ABC@Gmail.com somehow!
4). Our separate accounts work just dine at Disneyworld.com for MDE. We can add each other to dining reservations, etc.Even with the shoddy rollout in 2013 of magic bands and MDE, the accounts on disneyworld always worked fine for tickets, etc.
5). I cannot get DVC discounts online for APs or shopping as I cannot link DVC and MDE. I do not get the colorful lights upon entry. He does.

I ended up having to call 4 times to get our addressed changed, so I do understand it's Disney's IT and not the generally awesome cast members. I'm worried if I set up ABC@Gmail.com on DVCs website, it will then boot his log in out (like in #2), though maybe things have changed in the past 5 years. Does anyone have DVC (with 2+ on the deed) and all of the owners get all of the perks or have separate log ins?

Disney IT = :badpc:

We've been members since 2007 and we both have our own DVC accounts with no issues.

Each of you has your own unique Club ID which is what the DVC online access is supposed to be linked to.

We also had issues that they reported as fixed several years after moving to a new town, Disney reverted our address to our prior one. All emails and mailings went to old addresses. Even though they fixed it, we still were missing some emails. Disney IT wiped all of our account info on all Disney related websites, that seemed to fix the address issue. For MS we only use one account, we don't trust the system.

The only possible explanation I can think of is that both you and your husband were registered for a DVC account using the same Club ID. Every DVC member has a unique Club ID. You and your DH should have been issued different Club IDs. When your husband was signed up for a DVC account, if your Club ID was used instead of his it would then associate his email address with your Club ID and your account. Your email address would then no longer work to log in to your account.

I don't know for a fact that this is what happened but if it did, it would explain at least some of the problems you are experiencing.

ETA: Log in to the DVC Member site and under "My DVC Membership", click on " Profile Settings". Scroll down the page and look for "Disney Vacation Club ID Number" to find the Club ID associated with that DVC login name. Your Club ID was provided to you some time after you purchased so if you still have that paperwork, check the number against the one shown online to see if it is your Club ID or your husband's Club ID.

If you don't have your paperwork handy or didn't make note of your Club ID somewhere, here's another way to check. A little further down that page you will see who is listed as the Purchaser and who is listed as the Additional Purchaser. In my case, I am the Purchaser. My club ID is xxxxxxx.1 My DH is listed as "Additional Purchaser". His Club ID is the same initial 7 digits but with a ".2" on the end. If Disney is consistent about the way they assign Club IDs, if the Club ID you see online ends in ".1", you are logged in as whichever of you is listed as the Purchaser. If it ends in ".2" you are logged in as the Additional Purchaser.

DH and I each have our own separate DVC accounts and have no issues, he is the 'purchaser' and I am the 'additional purchaser'.

Hi All, thanks for the help. I suspect what Lisa posted happened. Of course the website is down so I cannot check anything. I'll look around for our original paperwork and check the website tonight.
