Get a letter from the surgeons office stating that you can't drive the day after your surgery and take it to HR.

Does everyone in your dept work from home Monday and Tuesday? I was wondering if it's possible to swap days with a coworker who may usually work from home on Friday.

Worse comes to worse take Thursday, Friday and Monday as FMLA.

Me and my supervisor get along pretty well until she gets a chance to have a mean streak. She's like that w/ a lot of people in the dept but for the most part we get along. It's just every so often, she likes to show how much power she does have. I'm hoping by tomorrow it'll be different.

As far as wfh being "lax", no way possible. Our work is accounted for daily and I'm one of the top performers on my team, that has never been a concern from them and I'm one they look to when they are in a crunch. I am actually getting ready to get a pretty awesome promotion, so that might be part of what is going on, her being upset I won't be on her team full time anymore.

And no, the following Wed (day before Thanksgiving) isn't a vacation day. Our company is closed that day, otherwise I would have just forfeited that day for Friday.

I think it'll work itself out. I'm really hoping that it was just that "day" for her. I just wasn't sure if there was something I was missing HR wise, but looks like I'll just have to take my chances if she doesn't grant it because I can't get out of the surgery.
