Issue Extending our Reservation

Hello, I called Disney Reservations today to add 1 day to our existing reservation for November 11-17th at Pop (free dining promo was used). The cast member told me they were unable to add a day as there were no rooms available. However, I can book a one day reservation at Pop at the full price (loosing out on dining credits for the extra night). He said the other option was to extend while I am there or to keep calling back. Has anyone else ever experienced this? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Two of the three options laid out by the CM are correct. You can either:

Add a room only
Keep calling

If you wait until you get there and try to extend it will still have to be a room only, no dining credits. And then you also run the risk of there being no rooms at all.

In the past, we have added a room only on the beginning and the end due to there being no rooms left in the Free Dining promotion.

I would keep calling as availability does change and that night become available under FD. You could book RO for that night so you have it, but still keep checking and cancel that night if availability for FD opens up. With that said, I agree with the pp that I wouldn't wait until you get there as that night might not be available at that time, but would be RO without DDP credits anyway, so adding it now would be best, IMO.

They mean there are no more rooms available under the free dining promotion, so if you want to book now it'll need to be a separate room only. You can wait and see if a free dining room comes open. You can cancel a room only anytime up to 5 days before arrival so you should have time to cancel it if you discover you can extend your package.

I called last Sunday to extend our stay at CBR (September) but there was no availability. The CM said to keep checking the website and/or calling. I checked the following morning and there was a standard room available on the room discount so called and the CM added it no problem to extend my free DDP stay.

So my advice would be check the website regularly for your dates and room type availability under any offer and if it's there then call. I only wanted to add one night so couldn't check that specific night under the free dining offer so I just chanced it when I seen it was there under RO.
