Just how different trips to DLP are compared to ones to WDW!

(This may be a little out of the blue and non trip-planny so feel free to move it mods :goodvibes)

I was just writing on Sonya's post about DLP rides vs. WDW ones and mentioned how we sometimes ride BTM 4 times in a day. We've even ridden other rides more times.

Now I know I've only been to WDW once in recent years, so maybe with more trips I'll see it differently.

But it's amazing how at DLP I happily spend 4 days in one park (with short forays into WDS and the village) never shop, or explore resorts, and just see every single inch of the main park.

I get kinda sad that I'll never know WDW MK like that, but it just seems so different. I guess we could stay at CR/BLT for 5 days and just go to MK all the time, but knowing all those other parks and places are around means I jsut don't feel as endeared to the one park.

Anyone agree/disagree? I'd love to hear how you feel. We always say "what are the differences/what do you prefer" but I love both, prefer neither, but feel so differently about each.

I guess the (ok this is obvious) size is the deciding difference.

There's just so much to do even in a 2 or 3 week trip to Orlando, whereas in DLP you're 'confined' to a much smaller area, meaning you really get to know the ins and outs of the place pretty well.

We've gotten to the point now at DLP where we are no longer rushing around joining queues and trying to do everything even over the course of the few days we're there. We haven't done EMH since our very first trips, and didn't get to the parks before 10 or 11 am during our last trip, preferring to have a leisurely breakfast then even a little snooze!

Like you, I love both places, and as I've always said DLP was our first love (the first place DW and I went on holiday together), however I think I'm more of an Orlando fan these days, especially when thinking about 'bang for your buck' :)

I totally agree Luke.

Although we LOVE DLP EMH, as every time we've done it we've gotten the whole of Main Street to ourselves and last January we were the only people to enter the park for about 15 minutes, and how often do you have a Disney park open just for you?!

We rode Dumbo in 2 separate elephants, just us, were the only ones on Peter Pan. Oh and Jack proposed with absolutely no other soul in sight. Amazing.

We too don't rush anywhere in DLP, and literally just feel like we know every sign and turn and pathway.

I guess that's where the beauty lies, somewhere small and cosy that you know and can take your time, and somewhere big, and exciting with new things to discover.

Both are great. :) (But I do agree that you get a lot more for your money at WDW)

I like that, sums up how I feel too!!

With staying onsite at WDW this time we're going to try and take our time this time, and being our third trip in as many years we're starting to get our barings as quickly as we do in DLP :)

I could never spend 4 whole days at MK, as I just really don't like it that much compared to the DP. I love DP, my DD loves adventure Isle and could spend all day there, there is just so much more detail than MK and things to explore.
