Isn't it amazing.....

Crokette, I've followed your postings ever since you lost your Lytchee. I can see myself being just like you, when the time comes for Chloe. It's going to devastate me. :sad2:

Are you going to eventually consider getting another pet?

I've seen many of your posts too, and I think I know how much you love your gorgeous Chloe.
I knew it would be hard to loose my furbaby, but I didn't think the intensity would last for so long.

I didn't want a new pet, because I thought I would never be able to love him the same I loved Lytchee.
But a year before Lytchee's death, a lost kitten, whose mother, brothers and sisters have been shot by someone in the neighbourhood (the vet found a piece of shot in the head skin of Tigrou), let us approach him. Now he sleeps on a pillow on the sofa. He's lovely and really sweet, he doesn't look like a stray cat any more.

I know how you feel....We lost our Barkley to cancer just last month. I never for a moment thought I could bear another animal as no one ever could measure up to our little guy. Well.....after 2 weeks of a very quiet house, I couldn't take it. I went to the pet store and got a puppy...sadly she had to be put down the very next day due to a liver shunt problem. I NEVER thought I would get another...and then that night I just sat here and thought I CAN'T not have a puppy...so we then got Chip.

Now a Barkley he is not! For certain there could never be another...but he is just the cutest little guy. As the holiday time approaches, I must admit there is a very big Barkley void in my heart. Christmas was a favorite time of the year for him and his birthday too...a big part of me and my heart miss him muchly. And thought Chip can nver replace my Barkley...he is sure nice to have around to love and give love.

I hope that someday you can find it in yourself to to share all the love you have to give with another furry pal. You know the love they can share...and I hope you can share that again! Big hugs to you at this diffucult time. I will keep you in my thoughts :grouphug:

Thank you so much for being so nice to me! It looks like you had a hard time too :grouphug: .

Here is a pic of me and Tigrou (1 and 1/2 yo):

I took him with me because he invited himself into my house. But I'm glad he did!

Merry Xmas to all the DisPetLovers (and to their pets!)

I agree! A few years ago I had to have my sweet cat, Louise, put to sleep just before Christmas because it was discovered she had cancer in her spine. It was so hard to lose her, but her quality of life was so poor it had to be done.

Thought I'd never want another cat, but DD had one she needed to find a home for so I reluctantly agreed to give her a try and I'm SO GLAD I DID!! She is such a sweet cat, even more loving and affectionate than Louise was. She wants to be on my lap anytime I sit down, she follows me around the house, she comes running to greet me when I come home from work, she sleeps with me, etc. I'm so thankful to have her.

I understand. This is what worries me. I can't imagine my life without a dog in it, but I know without a doubt that Chloe is my "heart dog".

We're going to get another puppy soon, so I'm hoping I can bond with it enough, so that when the time comes, the transition won't be so tough.

I hate even talking about it, but the reality is - they just aren't in our lives long enough. :sad2:

That's a horrible story about the cats; thank goodness you managed to save one of them. I'm sure it's a very lucky cat indeed!

A very uplifting story!

I so hope I can be like this. :grouphug:

It *is* amazing...really is!! Thats why it makes me SO sad I cant have pets cuz my allergies (really asthma) is so bad. I could deal with a drooling nose - but I cant BREATHE around animals. :guilty:

:goodvibes I genuinely feel the love you share with a pet is more unconditonal than any human you'll ever meet.
