Isn't 3 1/2 hours a little early to be picked up for airport?

I booked a return flight home for 5:45 p.m. so we could do parks that day. Our towncar company wants to pick us up from hotel at 2:15.

I realize they are being cautious, but that seems a bit early. Don't you think 2 - 2 1/2 would be plenty. This is a weekday, so no busy weekend or holiday traffic. Also, my youngest is 8 so I have no strollers and babies to juggle.

Have you ever requested a different pickup time than the compnay suggested??

Both towncar companies that we have used since 2001 have scheduled approximately 2.5 hours before the flight pickup. We have found it to be more than enough time, we generally have a flight at about 5pm, both weekday and weekend day and never really see much traffic.

I would asked why they are scheduling an 3.5 hour pickup time, maybe they know of something happening that day.

All their cars might have been booked for the more desirable 2-1/2 hours out time slot.

Our town car is coming 2 hours prior to our flight. But at 4:45 on a Sunday MORNING I think we will have plenty of time to make a 6:55 flight! LOL

Just some info- we left on a Sunday, our flight was at 11:30. When we checked our bags, they told us that just the line to get thru security was 2 hours. Yikes. It was a mess, with huge lines, and the airlines were sending people out trying to gather people for flights leaving. We did make it thru in about 1 hour, however it was very, very stressful. The airport personel said "it's Sunday, your'e lucky you're hear in the morning". So, in defense of your early pick-up, it's probably because the company has seen it extremely busy on Sundays.

Alot of cruises come in on Sunday morning.

I went through security around 5:00 this past Friday night and there was maybe a 5 minute wait.

I don't think 2 hours is unreasonable. I think 4:45 AM is unreasonable, but that is the airline's fault, not the car service! We didn't WANT to leave on a 6:55 AM flight but that was all we could get.

American Airlines told me to arrive 90 minutes prior to departure for a domestic flight with checked baggage. If it takes 30 minutes to go from Pop to the airport we should hit it just right.

I think we might just go home in our pajamas! Especially if we stay at MK until 10 PM on Saturday night!

I would call the towncar company back and ask if a 3:15pm pick up time would be possible....
You should have more than enough time to check-in and get thru security...

Debden - I think I will call or e-mail the towncar regarding that pickup time. It is a Wednesday, so the crowds can't be too bad.

I just wondered if, as a customer, you ever negotiated your pickup time with the towncar company?
