Island Tower at Polynesian Villas & Bungalows

The pool does seem small. However, I am not sure anything much bigger would have fit in the space they have available.
What they should have done was extended the beach area from the corner of Tuvalu towards the south side of the wedding pavilion, and found a way to fit a larger pool into that area where the current pool is. Maybe it's just the angle, but the pool does appear to be comically small given the massive structure towering over it.

For anyone that is familiar the VDH pool is also extremely small for the size of the tower and guests undoubtedly rely on the adjacent pools. When we were there we did enjoy the DVC pool but we also ended up in the DLH pool fairly often.

Yes, as a DL local, that's actually a concern of mine for Poly. The VDH pool is tiny. (They also had only a small amount of land to work with.)

I don’t know if this was posted, but that’s one tiny pool! Just thinking it’ll feel like a giant bathtub in the summer!
Yikes. I've been pretty pro Polynesian tower but that pool looks abysmal. They had an opportunity to do an infinity pool, do a sand bottom pool or hell even a basic pool like RIV's would've been fine but there's no trees, rock work or anything really. Disappointing to say the least.

Infinity pool would have been amazing….. Just copy the one at Aulani

The impact on the other 2 pools has me concerned. What will a 50% resort occupancy increase do? They’re already quite busy at times.

All the more reason to book a 1BR+. When I tell my kids we're going to the pool, I'll just put them in the tub in the room. They're roughly the same size anyways.

20 times the gallons per capita!

They’ll only fill the tower pool halfway with water so the resort doesn’t flood when 263 rooms of people jump in 😂

Is that definitely a legit pic? The original source of the photo was a pretty small account on Instagram, I’ve not seen it anywhere official…..yet.

Uncertain, but recent construction photos show the pool shape has been constructed. It looks very small. Photo angles can be off, of course, but it seems consistent with this photo.

As others have alluded to the impact on lava pool could be crazy. Is the nearest comparison stormalong bay? Yacht and beach club have three quiet pools between them i think to absorb guests compared to what will be two at the poly but stormalong obviously much bigger. They’ll surely have to get tighter on access to lava pool like at yacht and beach club.

Do we have a an aerial view of the construction site that shows the pool? It is really hard to judge the size of a pool from the perspective the photo above was taken from. You could make the courtyard pool look small from this perspective.

I haven't seen any overhead shots recently. The most recent shots of the pool construction that I've seen are here, about halfway down: https://blogmickey.com/2024/05/poly...ilestone-for-room-construction-more-painting/

Not the best from an angle perspective, but better than the artist rendering.

I decided to look at a couple dates to see what the cash booking availability is showing.

December 17 (opening night):
  • All duo studios (all views) are booked
  • All penthouse 2BR are booked
  • All bungalows are booked
  • Everything else is available at PVB
December 31 (New Years Eve so WDW is packed):
  • All duo studios (all views) are booked
  • All tower deluxe studio standard view are booked
  • All 1BR (all views) are booked
  • All 2BR theme park view are booked
  • All penthouse 2BR are booked
  • All longhouse studios are booked
  • All bungalows are booked
Bungalows and longhouses may be booked from DVC points, so that may explain no cash booking availability.

I wish Disney would release some details on the number of rooms in each category.
For 17th December all PVB longhouse dvc deluxe studios are booked but there are still 13 of the 20 bungalows available.

A month or so ago (In this thread I believe) someone posted a picture of the unfinished pool with 2 construction workers standing beside it. The picture provided a visual "scale" that was hard to miss. I mentioned to my wife, "The pool looks incredibly small" Unfortunately, it looks like that assumption was correct.

How can you tell how many are still available? All I can tell is 'all sold out' or 'at least 1 is available'
