Disney said they're releasing the first trailer for Moana 2 tomorrow...maybe DVD will reveal some Poly/Moana related details (we already know Moana will likely be featured in the resort ie. the pool) to coincide in with the trailer release. I figure if there will be more Moana IP it will mostly be in the bedrooms anyway so this makes sense to reveal room details in tandem with the movie trailer.

C'mon DVD, do the obvious and rational marketing thing and put us out of our misery 🙏

I can’t believe they haven’t done any e-ticket rides inspired by Moana, especially as there’s been a path for it in the rumor mill for years. I can’t be the only one who thinks having a small interactive water experience for Moana, just isn’t enough? I really enjoy Journey of Water but there’s so much potential with the Moana IP, it feels a bit wasted. Maybe I’m biased since Moana is my favorite modern Disney movie but I still think there’s so much fun potential from this one IP, an e-ticket for sure. An Adventureland Hotel would be incredible but, the idea of a Te Ka mountain ride is right up there for me… is there space for both?

You're in luck, not to drift this thread, but Moana is tangentially Polynesian...

While that hotel is floating around as a blue sky maybe, the Moana attraction is strongly rumoured to have been funded for Adventureland. We'll see definitively at D23, but it would be a repurposing of what they were considering for Animal Kingdom.

I want poster #2 from that thread to come and join this forum 😂

I know some of the posters have mentioned how they rolled out VDH, but it seems so strange not to have any information if people start booking on Tuesday. Perhaps they drop the prices/room layouts on Friday or Monday?

I know it will book up regardless the info, but I just need a tidbit of news!

Probably Monday's news cycle.... at the rate they have released info about the tower, they are going to wait until the last minute before announcing anything.

...I guess not obvious or rational enough 😒 :badpc:

They may be waiting for the timeshare license review to complete. DBPR showed it began reviewing on 5/24 and here we are on 5/29.

When VGF license was amended for BPK (adding the weeks), they also modified the POS and some other information. A lot more paperwork may be under review than just the license amendment.

Until the review is complete, Disney may be stuck in a holding pattern. Disney should wait until this reviewer approves everything....just in case.

I don’t think Disney has to wait for any license to advertise the new rooms if they frame it as part of the hotel or just the complex in general.

They’re not selling timeshare rooms yet, they’re just renting hotel rooms. At least that’s what I’m telling the judge lol.

In any case they’ve published loads of information without a license before, they just load everything up with “pending approval” and “if approved” throughout.

I think they’ll time it to when they think it will have the biggest impact. That’s probably Monday. But it could be tomorrow.

Anyone know a travel agent who has a call scheduled with Disney that doesn’t have a specific subject?

My thought is at this point, they're holding on to as much info as possible for D23. If they don't have a ton of solid parks announcements they could be using DVC info to fill in the gaps. Just a theory!

Any thoughts on what the ground floor area is near the pool?
Might this end up being a quick service? Location to the pool reminds me a lot of Capt. Cooks

You can see it in DVCNews.com Polynesian Tower Construction update today (second photo down). Lots of glass.

It seems too big and too centrally located, but is there a chance of a Community Hall? PVB doesn't have one yet, right?

It looks back of house to me. There’s no noted doorway to the interior of the building. It would be my guess that it will be inside storage for outdoor stuff.

I don't know.. that looks like a bit of both to me. Definitely the half without windows is back of house, but the front has a lot of glass to be used for something like that.

So I've been puzzling over this for a few minutes here - and I think there is a chance it's a fitness center/gym or an arcade. It's definitely NOT IMO a QS restaurant since there is no kitchen attached. Just below it you can see a bunch of bathrooms (although there isn't really a clearly defined exit and entry for those either) and the area just to the left of that with all the rectangles with diagonal lines through them - that is storage, possibly cold storage on some so I am thinking that is concierge/grocery delivery storage. But nothing else in the area suggests a way to prepare food nearby.

A fitness center/gym is much needed for the resort. Right now, everyone at Poly has to go to GF.
