Do we know for a fact that no studios will have tubs? Or is it just being assumed sine the video/photos show a shower?

I (adult) like the tub to sit on the edge and soak my feet .
Sometimes I’ll use AVEENO Oat Powder (available for toddler baths also at drugstores)
That itch and redness around my ankles from walking Disney concrete is soothed by the product and leaves a protective coating on your skin to continue the protection . It’s expensive but I have used it for excema , chickenpox ,and shingles soak too… I can not stand to use any lotions and can’t stand sunscreen on my skin .

But I guess I have to choose between quick housekeeping Shower ( vs tub ) Room Turnover .

I’d rather have my room ready on time .
I vote for the Shower only .
I assume they are eliminating the expensive soaker whirlpool tubs along with those expensive ceiling fans .Haha
They introduced the auto drying tub at the Riviera and have not heard anybody mention them since ?

I agree but it just blows my mind that nobody with common sense anywhere in the decision-making promise thought to themselves about what the effect would be of not including bathtubs in a resort that a significant number of toddlers and under 5 year old children visiting it.
There are 360 longhouse studios with bathtubs. That's more than 50% of the 608 studio rooms - that's not enough?

Maybe I'm in the minority but as someone with a young child, we never used the tubs at WDW. For our first trip when DD was a baby, I actually bought an inflatable tub because she was too small for the regular one. It worked so well, we used it the next time too (I'm small and trying to reach into a deep tub with a slippery toddler isn't ideal). By the time she was 2.5 we just moved to the shower. 🤷‍♀️

I agree.

Island Tower added less than 100 dedicated studios, plus there seems to be 46 lockoffs. Some of the lockoffs will be booked as 2BR lockoffs, so those will have access to a tub. On top of that, some will be HA, will any of those come with a tub?

PVB will have roughly 75% of studios with bathtubs.

PVB expected to have 19 booking room/categories. So the 268 keys in the Island Tower added 16 brand new options. It's going to be fun when the boards start complaining about how difficult it is to book a week or longer.

This is so stupid by Disney for a resort catering to young children. Especially a timeshare resort. My kids are both almost old enough for showers at this point, but the lack of a bathtub is going to immediately eliminate any families with toddlers.
When we are in vacation our toddler usually prefers to play/bathe in the walk in shower with rainfall head so we hardly ever use a tub in the room.

Not having a tub doesn’t even factor into room consideration for us at DVC resorts.

Is the lack of bathtubs just in the tower studios? If so, that may be the why since I would imagine that tower studios normally filled by couples or someone travelling solo. Not to say that some don't prefer having a tub. But I but wouldn't expect someone booking a tower studio to be travelling with a child.

Yes.

All 360 longhouse studios that are part of the same PVB association have tubs. (Possible exceptions would be HA rooms...just not sure tower or longhouse studio configuration).

Edit: here is more context...
72 PVB longhouse lake view deluxe studios with tub/shower + tub
288 PVB longhouse standard view deluxe studios with tub/shower + tub
Estimates for Island Tower
97 PVB IT dedicated deluxe studios (which will be broken into 3 view categories) with only a shower
46 PVB IT lockoffs (which will be broken into 3 view categories) where the studio potion will only have a shower.

Neither the Duo (which I think is what you are referring to) nor the regular deluxe studio have a tub.

I'm in the no tub is not a big deal camp. Sure when your kids are under 2 its nice to have, but once any of our 3 hit 2, they were good taking a shower as well as a bath. I don't think its a big deal breaker for most. Plus like the one person said, you can get one of those little inflatable pools that would work great in the shower.

Fun little tidbit of information. Assuming PVB Island Tower does eventually allow booking 2BR lockoffs for standard view and preferred view, I believe Polynesian hotel + DVC will have 27 different room/location/view booking categories. When I just checked Aulani, I only counted 22.

Is there any Disney resort with this many options?

No. I suspect it will be like VDH and there will be a limited amount of rooms with tubs for guests with young children, special needs, etc.

Mom with small children - we all prefer the shower versus tub. Put my kids in a tub and you’ve signed up for a 2 hour commitment. Showers are 20mins which equals more rest and more park time the next day.

Also - I really think we need to start calling it the PIT as abbreviation. Now that the giant Epcot dirt pit is finally finished we can lovingly assign that moniker to something else.

We showered our kids from as early as they were willing to do it, but my daughter right now is in that phase where she doesn’t really fit in a baby tub or a sink, but she doesn’t stand well enough to even attempt to shower.

No tub would be a deal breaker for a multi night stay anywhere right now, and I’d say it’s hard to say how long that will last for. My youngest son loved showering on his own (“on his own”) from when he was 3, my oldest had to be fought into a shower instead of a bath until he was 7.
