After DVC email today pushing the FWC my guess is they are dragging this Poly thing out to get some traction on those sales first. Personally, I’d be a little on easy with sales. ALU, RIV, FWC and now Poly. Lots to sale yet. I’d be slowing that Reflections roll down a bit

I agree a lot to sell but if Reflections is in the same trust as the CFW would that not help with sales of the CFW/Reflections product?

Of course that is even more direct points at $12+ dues so I would be out.

Speculating here...

If this is the correct California timeshare license page, they are now processing licensing changes that were after the declaration showing some Island Tower rooms declared into PVB.

https://www.dre.ca.gov/Licensees/CurrentTimeframes_3LicenseChanges.html

If they had the timeshare amendment application in before August 9, I believe that means it would be approved. Based on California being the last one to approve the original PVB timeshare license, it may mean marketing can officially be sent to anyone in the US.

Is this specific to a filing for the Polynesian or is it info on processing times generally for any documents filed as of Aug 9?

I am purely guessing that it's the processing time for any license changes. Based on various posts, they did have to modify the license for BPK sales in some states.

DW and I added on when PVB originally went on sale. We had to wait for approval in our state. Following the boards, there were numerous other states that had issues. Back then, I tracked PVB sales on occompt website and even tracked the notary stamp on the contracts to be able to tell which state someone bought remotely from. It was a big deal back then.

Knowing that each state has a different timeline and that California was the last one approved back then, just speculating that they would make sure everything is done before sales start.

Being honest, I don't know if that's the right website for this. Also, we don't know when an modification application was submitted. I believe I did find a DVD or DVC license somewhere on that website, but it wasn't specific to PVB. I believe it was just a general timeshare license.

If anyone has knowledge of their state, they may be able to find if an amendment has been approved. It would be really interesting if someone from California had some knowledge and could find the actual application.

I'm still going with, points chart on Sept 16 (or thereabouts) and sales to. existing starting on Oct 1, start of the new fiscal year. I walked by the Poly Tower today, after breakfast. It's got a ways to go. Balconies not done. Some rooms half finished. (Rooms on the front look further along than those on the back--or at least that's how it seemed from the monorail.) Pool nowhere near done. And hardscape prep just starting. It's going to be a rush to open this on time. Two hurricanes, I think, would end that effort. So hope for continued low hurricane action.

Sorry if this has been answered before, but I didn’t see it when looking. When booking goes live can all DVC book or is there a period of home resort booking only even if it’s under 7 months?

First they will open up points booking for Poly owners (old and new), using modified 11 month home resort booking rules.
After some small amount of time, it will then open up points booking for all DVC members, including non-Poly owners.
The "amount of time" may be as short as a week or possibly as long as a month, but that's totally up to DVC/DVD.

This is probably true but I have to think @Cabius was on to something with them "shifting" to the same association.

I just couldn't rationalize them adding 97 dedicated studios. I can sort of see the 46 studios that are part of lock-offs but not the dedicated ones considering the amount that they already have.
I get your point. However, those studios in the tower are very different than the longhouse studios.

Indeed they are but they didn’t really need any to be added to the existing association but would have been needed if it was a new association.

As you pointed out they are very different since they don’t sleep as many, 1 less shower, a worse location imo.

They also are similar In other ways. They are both named deluxe studios and my money is on them costing the same as well. The only exception being the the Theme Park view ones which will be higher.

Will Disney be able to fit the Island Tower and existing PVB into a single points chart? Just curious on this because I'm wondering if sleuths may be thinking about the link to the points charts wrong. Might we see a separate link/chart exclusively for Polynesian Villas and Bungalows Island Tower?

Will this be the first resort with essentially 5 view/location types for studios and 5 for 2BRs?

Here's a list of every room/view they will now have. AKV has a total of 16. Perhaps they squeeze the Island Tower studio and longhouse studio standard views together to get down to 16? For AKV Kidani and Jambo they have separate wording, but the links actually go to the same pdf. https://disneyvacationclub.disney.go.com/vacation-planning/points-charts

I think they could. I did a mock-up back in April, before we knew what the room types and view categories would be for sure, and it all (barely) fits. You can see the image below, and just mentally replace "Waikiki" with "Island Tower" and "3-Bedroom Grand Villa" with "2-Bedroom Penthouse"

Looking at the AKV point chart there is still space on that so I think they could fit it.

They also could do as you suggested and combine the studios and have it shown like AKV does for 1 bedrooms "(All sleep up to 4, most sleep up to 5"

The longhouses would still be the "most" of the studio accommodations.
