Island Hopping: A WDW PTR for Sept. 2012-- Link to TR! 10/10

Love all the matching outfits. They are all so cute and I love how they go with each park.

I love it! I could never get Bryan to match us.

You'll get the best pictures in your coordinated outfits! I think it's great.

My faves are the 'blingy' outfits, and the ones for AK. You know I love your animal prints for AK!
I actually think the picture thing may be why Brandon has never put up a fight about it...that, and the fact that he doesn't care (or notice!) what he's wearing most of the time:thumbsup2!
I love my new blingy shirt, and the outfit for that day is one of my favorites on him. Plus, those navy shorts for him were three dollars at Kohl's!

Well if that isn't impressive, then I don't know what is! :rotfl: Seriously though, I love the outfits! Those kids are going to be stylin' and profilin'... well actually, you all will be!

I kind of wonder if one days when we have kids and go to Disney, if I'll be able to convince Matt to wear matching shirts. I think they're quite cute! :goodvibes

But yes, your coordination with your days in the parks is pretty impressive. I myself enjoy the blingy shirt!
Impressive...or maybe a little insane! Either way, I just go with it. No use fighting the impulse!

CLothes are amazing!!!! My DH will not let me matchy/match us....pooh head!

Your outfits looks great...nice but not too nice, but not too relaxed!!! And I love that it is all planned out and there is no 'what should I wear today'

I may have to do this for at least me and the kids (and be sneaky about it with DH). We usually pack the kids clothes with ziplock with the name of the kids and the day of the week.
BOO! I'm glad Brandon doesn't care. Even if he did care, he wouldn't have much choice because I do all the packing :rotfl2:!
We've done the kids' ziplocs every year up until now, but this year I'm considering getting the gigantic ones and putting ALL our outfits for the day in them. Still pondering it, though.

All of your matching outfits are too cute!! :goodvibes
Thanks! It actually makes me feel better in case someone were to get lost. "She should be wearing something like...well...THIS!"

Love all the matching outfits. They are all so cute and I love how they go with each park.
Thanks! I try to make sure the kids' outfits always match the parks in some way, and then we try to color coordinate with the kids. And by "we," I mean "me.":lmao:

Wow. I could NEVER get my DH to do the matching thing. I was lucky I got him to wear a matching tye dye Mickey head shirt on our last MNSSHP! He still won't tell me if he'll wear a costume or not! I just let him pick out the shirts he wants and he wears them on any day he wants. I get stuck with him wearing Buffalo Bills and Detroit Tigers shirts in all of our pictures! He does wear some plain shirts too, but I wish he'd wear them everyday!

I'm having a major dilema with my DS's shorts for our trip. He currently wears 9 month shorts (even though he's 14 months old) and his 12 month shorts are HUGE on him! I really don't see him growing that much in a month and I can't find shorts anywhere at any store. I'm starting to panic! He currently has 1 pair of denim shorts, 1 pair of navy, 1 pair of gray and then 3 plaid shorts that don't match any of his vacation shrits. AHHH!!!!

Well, I never buy Brandon any NEW shirts for vacation, so I'm not even sure he really notices what's going on because he's just wearing his usual clothes:lmao:! Even if he did notice, he probably wouldn't care. He really doesn't care to be a cheeseball at all:joker:.
I was having the same dilemma with Sawyer's shorts. He's VERY tall, but VERY skinny. His height would fit 24 months or 2t, but his waist is still 18 months. Luckily, I found a ton of shorts on clearance at Kohl's that were long, so I could buy him 18 months and they were long enough, plus cheap! He also has some 24 month and 2t ones that have the adjustable elastic inside. Love those! I also figured out that one of his pairs of plaid shorts that fit him actually match one of his "back-up" shirts really well, so that made me happy! You know how it is with the little ones--you have to pack tons of extra outfits because they will definitely get dirty! Try to find the clearance table at Kohl's. You won't be disappointed!

Hi there, just wanted to drop in and say awesome job on the PTR. No, you are not crazy for planning all the outfits. I don't have kids, but I do that for myself! Our trip is still over two months away and I already have started thinking about what I'll wear each day. When I do have kids, I will totally plan their outfits too. Definitely wise planning!

Um, that Star Wars shirt is the cutest thing I've ever seen. And I love the IASW shirt you guys made! Honestly, I could see that being on sale at Disney World.

And yes, in response to Dani's post, I'll totally be one to wear matching outfits, because it's adorable. :)

AHHH! I think I just fainted! You're like Disboards royalty to me and you're HERE!:cool1: (I might like TRs a little too much.)
Planning makes me happy and I think it's completely necessary. Clothes are important, you know! We're brilliant, obviously.

ISN'T IT!?! Brandon actually spotted it randomly hanging on a rack at Target and it was Sawyer's size! It was meant to be.
I WISH something like those IASW shirts was on sale at Disney World. I cannot stress how much I hate making shirts. HATE. We have pretty much exhausted IASW merchandise options, I think. And since one of Brynn's two Asperger's obsessions is IASW, that truly sucks. I would shell out millions of dollars to find her more things that make her happy. These shirts make her so happy! I am always on the search for something new for her, and when they don't have anything new, I make something new.
I just knew you would totally wear matching shirts because you are precious and awesome. I never questioned your dedication to the adorable cause at all :goodvibes.

Oh mannnnn those outfits are stinkin cute!! It's stuff like that that makes me wish we had kids!! Of course matt wouldn't want to wear mathing outfits! :lmao: He's too :cool2:

It will really be easy for me to spot you guys now!! I know we'll definitely be at MK on Saturday, then Epcot on Sunday, then we might bump into you AGAIN at MK on Monday after we leave AK for the day! Then of course Tuesday is ALSO DHS!!! We might as well leave CBR at the same time and everything for the same parks!! We'll certainly bump into each other!

I told you I'd come over!!! It took me a few days but I'm all caught up! I'm loving reading about your adorable family and all your plans. It sounds like a wonderful trip and I totally understand the island hopping thing. Awesome!

LOVE the coordinating outfits. My future family is SO doing that. :thumbsup2

Hello! I found your links in another TR I'm reading. I read your last TR straight through last night, and this morning I started on this PTR...now I'm caught up and officially subbing in.

Your kidlets are beyond adorable! I love the park-coordinated family style outfits, too. I've been known to wear animal print to AK myself, so I totally embrace it!

I cannot believe we're going to be doing so much at the same time! Now you can spot us from a mile away (if you don't hear us coming first:lmao:!). There's pretty much no way we won't meet up!

:yay: So glad you made it! You are so much fun that I just knew your future family would be as over-the-top as we are:goodvibes!

:flower3:Aw, I'm blushing! So happy you read it and enjoyed it!
Thank you for such sweet words!
Embrace the park cheesiness! It's part of the experience!

Does anyone else have a Disney box stashed somewhere in your house? We have two, actually. We keep lots of things stashed in there throughout the year, and we add to it occasionally if we pick up things we'll need on our next trip. It makes packing so much easier! If you don't have one, you should get a rubbermaid tote and start one; it makes me feel like I could just pick up at any time and drive to WDW!

This morning I pulled out our two totes and took inventory of what we have so I could make a list of what we need. Now you can have a little peak into the random things we hoard for Disney:rotfl2:!

In our Disney boxes were:
4 Vapur collapsible water bottles
dramamine, maxalt (for migraines), immodium
monogrammed tote bag
4 fabric storage cubes
rain cover for a single umbrella stroller
box of 27 Coretex SunX SPF 30 Sunscreen wipes (Brynn won't do spray)
2 trip journals
mini first-aid kit
glow necklace they sell during MSEP/Wishes
night light for the hotel room
2 spray fans
4 tubes of glowsticks from the dollar tree, 8 in each
2 camping Illumasticks from Coleman
2 miniature crown combs for the girls' hair
foam earplugs
mini sewing kit
Maclaren stroller organizer
2 LED flashlights
2 princess light spinners
2 packs Kleenex
autograph pen (official Disney one)
Clorox To Go wipes
2 Mickey ponchos, adult size
waterproof card holder on lanyard
2 light wands from MSEP, one needs batteries
friction block stick
plastic clothes pins
kid nail clippers
cheap ponchos (still need more)
Minnie ears headband
2 princess lanyards with pouches, 1 without pouch
swim shoes
Pack-n-Play sheet
goggles
plug covers
swim diapers
beach bag
bathing suits
floaties
sound machine
travel bottles of shampoo, body wash, detangler spray

Whew! Now that sounds like a lot, but in reality those bins are less than half full, and all that could be combined in one with room to spare.

I made a list of things I know I need. Yes, it will grow, but I did my best today. I went to Walmart, my least favorite place on earth, to shop. I always save a Walmart trip for when it's the only place that would have all the random things I need. I shudder just walking in there. Yikes.

Anyway, this is what I picked up:
More Clorox Wipes to go...yeah, we got sick last trip.
Antibacterial gel that attaches to diaper bag. See above.
disposable diapers. Still not sure how many I'll need, but I'm not taking our cloth ones. Hope I got enough.
Two pairs of clearance shorts and two clearance skirts for the girls--$2 each!
shorts for me
AA batteries for all those spray fans and light up toys
bubbles
toothbrushes for all
kid toothpaste
adult toothpaste
sunscreen spray
razor blades, because cheap travel razors and I do not get along.
deoderant
gel
hairspray
giant ziplocs to hopefully pack a day's worth of clothes in!
blister bandages
ace bandage
toothbrush covers with suction cups
cheap sponges I can cut up, dip in dishwashing soap, dry, and use on sippy cups when needed

That might be all. I honestly can't remember!

It's time to break out the Ultimate Packing List from Mousesavers and start checking things off!

Also, after reading this, you see why we drive, right:drive:?? What's spectacular is that when I actually pack the van, it'll look pretty empty. All these things are little and pack well. Truly, we probably won't use half of this, but we're very much "just in case" kind of people.

Or insane.

Either way.:rolleyes1

We have a Disney box with Disney stickers all over it. It has our Disney shirts with our names on them, the bag we use for parks, and anything we pick up between trips to use on the next trip :thumbsup2 So glad I'm not the only one with one!

We don't have a bin but gosh, yours sound EPIC! You don't mess around, haha.

I totally use the Mousesavers checklist though and it totally came in handy when we did our last trip to Target for the little things we needed. SO much more well-prepared for our last trip than our honeymoon. That was kind of a disaster in terms of my "injuries". I try to forget my melt down in the middle of Epcot over blisters on my feet. It was the WORST. No one wants to be crying in the middle of Epcot, hahaha.

Anyway, with all of that, it sounds like you guys will be in super good shape! :thumbsup2

Can you tell me where you got this design? I would love to have it for Jill to do shirts for the girls. All of your outfits look great! You did a wonderful job coordinating!

Brandon drew it in Photoshop based off a pin he saw. If you pm me your email address, I'll send you the file :thumbsup2!

Oh, I need to decorate ours!! Good idea! Personally, I think we're briliant:thumbsup2. You are not alone!

I know that you'll have one someday, Dani. Once you guys have kids, you'll be all over it! If it were just me, I'd probably throw some shorts and a toothbrush in a bag and go, but it's the little ones that have made me this ridiculous:lmao:
Don't you LOVE that planning list!?! I cross of things we don't need and add what we do need and keep copies everywhere.
Epcot blisters=bad. Let's not repeat that, mmmkay??

Hi there!:goodvibes I followed your previous TR and your kiddos are too cute for words! Bummer that you all got sick though last trip though! I am crazy militant when we are there and carry no less than three packs of Wet Ones while at Disney. I thought I did a good job until the time my youngest licked, yes licked, down the railing of It's a Small World. My stomach still turns just thinking about it. I considered wiping her little mouth out with a wipe but technically you're not supposed to you know, ingest them.

Looks like your Sept. trip is shaping up nicely. Love the coordinated outfits too! I have three girls and when they were really young, I dressed them exactly alike all. the. time! Until my nearly ten year old finally begged me to stop. That was a sad, sad day. Anyhow, I love your organizational tub! I'm a big fan of lists too. Honestly, one of my favorite things to do is plan a Disney trip and all that it entails.:thumbsup2
