Is your spouse the most interesting conversationist you know?

How is your spouse when it comes to conversation? Is he/she a good conversationist? Is he/she an interesting person to talk to? How is the conversation with him/her in comparison to your early days as a couple?

Why do I ask? Well most couples I know seem like they really do not talk anymore. Most of the conversation revolves around necessary topics like the kids, housework, money, car repairs, household duties, etc. Pretty boring stuff. None of the topics of conversation a dating couple would talk about.

Does your spouse talk about interesting things anymore. How is your spouse's conversation skills in comparison to your same sex best friend?

My DH and I still talk as much as we did when we were dating. We talk about all sorts of things: current events, work, sports, vacation plans, etc. Yes, we talk about the "mundane" things like money, the house, etc. but that comes with being a grown-up. We don't talk about children b/c we don't have any.

Of course I talk differently with my spouse than I do with my best girl friend b/c usually my girl friend and I are talking about her dating life (she's unmarried) or a hot guy or something.

SO and I love each other's company and conversations with each other. He travelled the world in the military, he is so filled with knowledge that it is makes my head spin sometimes. We love to just lay in bed and talk about everything, life, love, and anything else that comes along!

My hubby is a man of a few words, always been that way. I don't mind, it's like that song... " You Say it Best, When You Say Nothing at All ". I love him to death and wouldn't trade him for a talker, even for tonight's winning powerball ticket lol.

I would say yes. DH and I have always found lots to talk about-many times we have different opinions, other times we share the same views-it makes more interesting and fun conversations with DH. I love talking to him

We talk all the time! Of course, there has been the rare occasion when neither of us has had anything to say (a little weird, but I guess that happens after several years). But we talk about everything. He's my best friend.

I'm a big fan of Everybody Loves Raymond. Has anyone else ever seen the episode when Ray and Debra are out to a nice dinner together, and they have nothing to say to one another, and they both freak out about it, and for the rest of the episode, they keep trying to do something about it?

Oh well. This thread just reminded me of that episode, lol.

I absolutely love that even at a party in a room full of wildly interesting people from all walks of life, the one I want to most have a conversation with is DH.

Its one of my favorite things about him, his ability to converse about anything and everything. And I also love how he never makes anyone feel slighted or feel ill at ease, he's a very warm and kind man and it shines through in conversations.

We talk all the time. Of course, HE talks ALL the time. He would say he doesn't - but trust me, he does. Yack, yack, yack, yack, yack - like an old lady.

But he's rather fun - there's never any uncomfortable silence when he's at the party.

Absolutely! He is my favorite person to talk with. He's hilarious and informed, passionate about what he believes. We talk for hours and that has been from the time we first met.

Yes, my DH is my favorite person to talk to. He's smart and funny -- we never run out of things to say. Even when everything else seems to be going wrong between us, we can still talk.

My DH and I talk all the time...he is my best friend and we have been married for 36 years.. you would think we would run out of things to talk about, but we don't. It is not just our kids and our home.. mostly current events, meeting friends and talking and just life in general, traveling together, we are a team.
