Is your pet weird?

Well... all 3 of my dogs are weird.

Sebastian - 5 yo border collie mix - we do not have sheep so he herds the other dogs from one side to the other in our backyard, he snores (loudly), and burrows himself in blankets like a pig. :o

For a herding breed mix the first comment isn't weird, he is just doing what is natural behaviour is for him. There is an anecdote about an Australian shepherd in "Dogs for Dummies". His owner was having a party in the backyard, and before they knew it the guests were in a nice and neatly packed circle. Once they figured out what happened they spread out again-probably to the Aussie's chagrin LOL!!!! Speaking of Aussie's, I had one that herded and then killed rats.

As for the other two comments about Sebastian, well, I'm no pet behaviourist!

Now, I do have a strange dog. Bo is nearing 13, and was pretty much abandoned as a puppy. As a result, he has very strong seperation anxiety. Let me repeat, he has very strong separation anxiety. Whenever one of his pack members even grabs a set of keys he gets up, immediatley starts barking, and then starts to do 360's (spinning around)! It can be really annoying though.

He will be dead tired, but when he here's those keys watch out! We really should probably videotape this and send it into America's Funniset Home Videos!

Oh yes, My doggies are werid too! We had one that passed away last year...she would jump the fence and knew her way to BFs mom's work place, about 3-4 miles away!

Our oldest dog, she is just WAY too smart, it's like she understands every little thing we say. One of the smartest things she did is she was getting irritated with the other two dogs playing around in the house (she is very mellow and just wants to sleep and eat all day). All of a sudden, she started acting very excited, jumps off the couch, and runs to the front door, which made the other two want to do the same. We open the door, and smart dog runs out, the other two run past her, and she walks back into the now-quiet house to sleep on her couch!

Then our littlest one has a sock fetish (and underwear and other lingerie when socks are not available). Every night we are entertained by her pulling socks out of the laundry basket and parading around the house a few times with the socks. In the morning, her couch is usually full of socks!
