Is your mother in law your friend on facebook?

Yes, she is. But I'm a guy, so maybe that makes a difference. I get along well with my MIL and we actually work in the same office and have been only a cubicle or two apart for the past three years.

My mother and my MIL are both on Facebook and I haven't responded to either one's request to be my friend yet. I'm just not sure I'm ready to make that step in our relationship. :lmao: I really just need to figure out how to limit their access to my profile.

no but she is on Facebook and I don't like it one bit. Of course my own mother is my friend too and I don't like that either but I really hate my MIL being my friend.

But really what was I supposed to do??? I couldn't NOT friend her, could I?

Sure. My kids would never friend me. Then again, I don't want to be their friends on facebook, myspace, or any other social networking site, :scared: and so wouldn't ask.

My MIL friended me on Facebook too. What could I do? Luckily she isn't on too often.

No, but my 18 year old SIL just became my friend... and begged me not to tell MIL that she's on there. :rotfl2:

My husband is friends with my mom on facebook. My MIL just barely uses a computer so she hasn't gone near facebook yet.

My husband is "friends" with my mother, too. He is also "friends" with my sister. He was with my father, too, until my father deleted his account, because he was rarely on. My parents are divorced and both remarried, but were friends on Facebook!! They get along better now than when they were married. :rotfl:

I'm friends with my sons and DDILs. I didn't realize that when you set up your account and give permission to access your E-mail contacts, it automatically notifies everybody in your address book to befriend. I had some old contacts that I would have never thought to have added.

As far as my adult kids, it has caused me a few problems when I read something that upsets me - nothing major. Since setting up, I haven't initiated adding any of their friends, but accepted if they requested me as a friend.

I need to read "Facebook for Dummies"! (I have it, just haven't looked at it much.)

Some advice I got here when my DSIL wanted to be my friend: If you are really pressured, sign her up. A couple of weeks later delete her name. If she wants to know what happened, tell her it must have been a computer glitch.

My MIL is friends with me, DD15, my BFF and one of DD's BFFs. :rotfl: We actually encouraged her to join so we could all keep up with photos and such so much easier.

She has gotten the hang of it pretty well. I would never have anything on my page that she or my DD15 couldn't see (I have my Myspace page for that!).

YES!

But, I love her like a mom. DH and I told her months ago, to join. She's also a flickr contact, and one of my most frequent blog readers. No secrets from her.
