Is Your Car Safe Parked At OIA’s Garage?

While that maybe true according to the numbers in the story, the fact is they also were stealing people's personal cars and not just the rental cars.

And how many readers here, other than Safetymom occasionally and a few others, are parking their personal cars at MCO?

What we need to know is how many cars were parked at MCO over that five year period. The absolute numbers are meaningless without this information (especially when they bring in numbers from Denver and Tampa).

Thankfully I never had that problem at OIA. I saw the report on TV and they left out lots of details. Of course it is November sweeps months so they want it to be dramatic.

I would bet QUITE a lot that almost all of the personal vehicles taken were left unlocked. Our of our local news stations did a story on how often that happens at airport parking lots, and the answer is very frequently. People get in a hurry to catch a plane/meet a flight, and they forget to lock the car.

I have had a "personal car" parked at MCO's garage at least 3 months each year over the past 5 years...to date...without event (other than horrific parking fees).

Of course I've locked my car, left no valuables visable.

I suppose, the 5 gallon bucket of sand filled with fire ants in the back, has helped deter any car thief! ;)...:lmao:
