We have a adr for this restaurant for our upcoming trip. I did get the honey chicken once at the counter service and didnt really care for it because it just tasted like honey was poured onto the chicken. Are there any entrees someone could recommend? Thanks

We quite like it, actually. I like the Manadarin Chicken Salad and the Seared Ahi Tuna Appetizer. DH has had the Seared Miso Salmon and enjoyed it. We'll probably go there again on our upcoming trip... planning that now... :)

We had lunch there on one of our visits last year and liked it. We didn't have any entrées, though. We split the Dim Sum Basket for Two and a couple other appetizers. We enjoyed everything we tried there. I thought that the cha su bao in the dim sum basket were the best part of the meal. The seared ahi tuna was also quite nice.

The honey chicken entree at the TS Yak & Yeti is completely different and much better than the one they serve at the CS. I had it first inside and it was good, so I decided one day just to get it from the CS . . . Yuck! Completely different, so don't let the CS options worry you about the quality of what's in the restaurant. We've eaten at the TS a couple of times and always enjoy it and have ADRs there in 2 weeks. Loved the dim sum basket so much I think that will be my meal this next time. The fried wonton dessert (sorry can't remember the name) is very yummy too.

We think Y&Y is good, as long as you go in expecting similar food to a local chinese restaurant. The pork dumplings are good, the egg rolls are some of the best I've ever had, the cream cheese wontons are awesome and in general our experience was positive and we will return.

Y&Y is one of my absolute favorite TS restaurants! I love the variety on the menu and I've never had an entree I didn't love, plus the service is good and the decor is amazing. Can't go wrong with the fried green beans and tempura shrimp, IMO! :thumbsup2

Skirt steak and shrimp is our VERY favorite--

If you eat in the afternoon and can get a window table, you can see the Jammin Jungle parade at 3 while you eat!!!

We go every year and have never eaten here but we are next trip. Can't wait to try it!!! :thumbsup2

Mmmm, Yak & Yeti...

I like the seared ahi tuna appetizer, the ribs, and the pinapple cream-cheese wontons.

(Have a craving for them now!)

NOTE: Yak & Yeti is another eatery from the folks that
brought you T-Rex & Rain Forest Cafe. The service is average
or below, as servers are overworked, just like at T-Rex and
RFC. The food is way overpriced for the quality and quantity,
even for a Disney eatery. The Mahi-Mahi was not worth $23,
and Chicken Lo Mein was not worth $18. Add another eatery
to our "not recommended" list. Your local Chinese eatery is as
good, and at probably 1/3 the price.

The skirt steak with shrimp and fried pineapple won tons were delicious. I really enjoyed that meal and I'm thinking of doing it again next year.

I also agree with Rusty on the workers being overworked... ask me as my waiter spilled a whole tray of beers on my lap last May and they never comped my meal or anything.. poor guy was so embarrased an was I.
I do however really like the food... thought the mahi mahi was soo good and the ribs are among the best on property. Never leave without the pineapple wonton dessert either!! I probably woul'nt pay for it out of pocket but find it fine if you are on the DDP...:goodvibes

Thanks for all the reviews. We will definetely keep our upcoming ADR.

We actually had an early lunch here recently and found the food to be decent and the service excellent. We had two different managers check on our table during the lunch and a very hard working server who was extremely attentive throughout the meal. There are a lot of nice menu options for lunch, with large portions. The alcohol drinks were good as well. I wouldn't say it's one of the finest restaurants on property but I would DEFINITELY return there for a meal while visiting AK.

Its my favorite option for lunch at Animal Kingdom! I've done only appetizers and entrees and everything I've had has been great. The only thing that makes me sad is that they got rid of 2 of their awesome dishes as they weren't for the 'masses'

I loved the steamed dumplings and the ribs. The desserts are just okay but my DH loved everything he had too. We give it two thumbs up.

DH and I ate an early lunch at Yak and Yeti at the end of September. We enjoyed the food but didn't ENJOY the food as we thought it adequate but nothing to write home about. And boy howdy! it was expensive, especially after not being able to use our Tables in Wonderland discount. THAT was a surprise. Bottom line, the food was fine, the decor was lovely, but we have no desire to return.

We enjoyed it. Judging from the booming business they do, lots of other Disney guests enjoy it too. I wouldn't call it a 5-star restaurant, but compared to several other WDW restaurants we've tried, Yak and Yeti is great. Yes, it's expensive, but what WDW restaurant isn't?

Enjoyment of Yak and Yeti will depend greatly on what your usual expectations of various Asian foods are. If you like going to your local family Chinese restaurant, then you will love it. Go and try something new and have fun, it's such a cool building. If you like that new thing that you've tried, find out where you can find it close to home and expand your palate even more.

If you're the kind of family who has a favorite Dim Sum place for Sunday brunch, a Szechuan place for Friday night, and another place where you get xiaolongbao for lunch... well, Yak and Yeti isn't bad, but you'll be longing for home. DH and I always eat there, and it's fine, but it makes us homesick and we immediately start talking about getting a hot bowl of pho as soon as we get home.

I had the seafood curry and it was okay, but very bland compared to what you'd get at a thai or other SE asian restaurant. I don't just mean not spicy either, just not very flavorful. If I didn't go to ethnic restaurants at home I may not have been so disappointed. If you get the wonton dessert, I would ask for the sauce on the side. It was super sweet and I would have preferred to be able to just dip it rather than have it coated it in.
