Is worth paying the extra to fly with Virgin?

Is their a reason people prefer to upgrade on the way out? Instead of the way back?

I'd want something g better on the way back as on the way over I'm excited and don't care as much lol
I've upgraded for the way back as we had to change our tickets due to deployment,and the June ticket was alot cheaper that we only had to pay £26 pp to upgrade to PE on the way home!

Personally I upgrade on the way back as I'd rather relax more and get a better sleep! It's also quieter than economy.

Lets just say when Mrs Stoat saw the most recent Virgin TV advert she snorted and said derisively " If you advertise that, then your staff had better be able to back it up".
Our last experience was 3 years ago and would not encorage me back.

I was thinking about the upgrade on the way back just to get some sleep more then anything but I suppose it is a waste of paying for it if your not going to use!

I've done some flight comparisons today and if I fiddled with my dates & add on the extra 2 days I was think flights are coming out at £470 direct return with Thomas Cook which is about £100 cheaper PP then Virgin so looks like Its gonna be TC. I could always pay the £40pp each way for extra leg room!

we much prefer the way out to upgrade. Regardless of where I am in the plane on the way back I will not sleep and only ever shut my eyes so doesn't really matter where I am. On the way out we move about more and therefore prefer the little bit of extra room. Its also a longer flight on the way out so feel like I am getting a bit extra for the money!
