We have never attended any of the member activities @ WDW. Has anyone attended WHW recently? Did you feel it was time well-spent, or were you wishing you were elsewhere? Also, approximately how long did it last? Would my kids enjoy it as well...or should I just sneak off on my own to attend? Thanks!

We attended WHW in August. We happened to be at BC so it was just a short walk to Atlantic Dance Hall. They had a trivia contest served soda and pocorn and gave out a few pins. Everyone attending got DVC Baseball hats which DH loved. It lasted about an hour. My 2 teenaged sons did not come but I don't think they would have been bored if they did. Certainly worth a hour if does not conflict with your schedule or is not too out of the way.

Thank you magicmommy! I knew someone must have attended. It sounds like we would enjoy it if we can work it into our schedule. :woohoo:

We went in July. We all played a trivia game, ate some snacks, got reminded of some perks and all left w/nice DVC member hats.

Is it general Disney trivia or DVC specific trivia? And do they give some type of prizes for those winners?

We all 4 attended in late July. We had no clue what to expect but it was a nice hour well spent! We had some snacks...learned a few more features about DVC that we had missed...and we received those great hats.

Yes, they did give prizes to the folks answering the trivia type DVC questions. The folks on stage got something pretty nice (I can't recall what now) and audience members that answered recieved some small DVC item for a correct answer.

Overall...I would attend again...

It is mostly DVC trivia. I went on the 20th and had a great time. I met some really nice ladies who own at OKW. I answered a question about the Cities of Knights and Lights trip and won a silver keychain and also my name was drawn and I won the DVC golf umbrella. There were a few other door prizes and everyone was given a hat on the way out.

A lady from the WDW florist was there, too, with several of the DVC baskets they make. She was very nice and it was nice to be able to see the baskets. I am getting one for DH and the kids for our trip in February.

I had a great time and my DD wants to go with me in Feb. :teeth:

We went the end of August and got hats and my dd won a DVC mouse for her computer!
It's cool! It has blue water floating in it with a DVC sign.
The people who play in the trivia win something and then they have a drawing and 4 audience members win a prize. My dd was the last raffle/door prize ticket chosen that day

Only on Wednesdays...

what time does it start?

Welcome Home Wednesdays is the newest Member event at the Walt Disney World® Resort. These interactive gatherings take place on most Wednesdays at 4:00 p.m. inside Atlantic Dance Hall at Disney's BoardWalk entertainment district. They present Members and their family and friends with the latest scoops and exciting updates — through a high-energy, interactive game show.

That should actually work out pretty good for our schedule. We'll go to the member mixer, then be able to head over to DTD in time to make our 7:30 ADR at Raglan... :goodvibes

My DB, D-SIL and 2 DNs will be joining my family of 4. Are they permitted to attend with us, or is is strictly members only? Thanks!

thanks, looks like we'll be invading the world @ the same time....I plan on doing some investigative work @ the CR:tiptoe:

We've got a Fantasmic Pkg booked for 4:00 p.m. that day, we missed it last june too; there's just far too many options to pick from lol.

We have an ADR for CA Grill one night, so I plan to do a little "snooping" myself... :tiptoe: :rolleyes1

Guess I'm in the minority, but I thought it was kind of lame. We went to the Summer Blockbuster party the same week and it was much, much better. Going once was worth it if you really wanted a hat, but I wouldn't go a second time. YMMV :sunny:

Just wondering if you have to be staying w/ points to attend? What if you just are doing a regular quickie trip?

I think it is open to all members, not just those staying on points during that time. That brings up a good question though, do you have to present your DVC member card to get in?

We thought it was worth an hour of our time, but I wouldn't make any special arrangements to attend. We went a couple of years ago while grandma stayed in the room with our napping kids.

If we were the type to stay in the parks throughout the day, I would have been disappointed over making a special trip to attend the meeting.
