Is Wed. Better Than Tues. at the MK?

We have a trip coming up next week, and because I booked it last minute and it is our first trip in two years, I am scrambling to learn as much about the new changes to the parks as I can.

Our first park day is Monday since we have a weekday annual pass, and we know MK is not recommended, so we are doing EP. Tuesday, we were going to do MK since it is not on the "worst park" list. However, I know it is also recommended on Wednesday.

I was looking at the Disney Wait Times site yesterday, and the MK seemed incredibly busy. However, I am looking at wait times there today, and they are wonderfully low for most attractions. Now, I am thinking we should push our first MK day until Wed. and then do it again on Fri. which is our last day.

The thing is, I really hate not visiting the MK until three days into our trip, but it will be worth it if wait times are much lower. Has anyone else noticed a big difference between Tuesdays and Wednesdays at the MK, or is this week possibly just a fluke due to MLK crowds?

Our first morning in MK is on Wed, however we have hoppers and plan to go there in the evening on Monday & Tuesday. I'd rather wait until Wednesday with (hopefully) lower crowds to get a whole day in, but I can't be in the World and NOT go into MK on the first day or so.

I know, I am trying to decide whether Wed. is really that much better than Tues. I think it would be fine waiting until our 3rd day to go to MK, especially since the boys love Epcot, but if it isn't going to make that much of a difference we can just stick to the original plan.

We will be there next week too, on a last minute planned trip, with our weekday annual pass! Lol! I too hated the idea of waiting until our third day to do MK but that's what we are doing. We will hop over there Tuesday night though for the parade.

We have weekday passes too & I will tell you we went to AK first thing Tuesday morning at about 9:30am & stuff was pretty much a walk on. Didn't do Everest or rapids. Safari was a 10 wait. We ended up dumping all FPs & redoing them for MK. When we finally got there about 3pm the place was a madhouse. People everywhere wait times were long. We only used 1 FP & then wandered. HM was almost an hour wait. We didn't even go near Fantasyland or Buzz. Just wandered Main St & got on the bus back to POR.

Yesterday, Touring Plans gave MK a "6" and today a "2"; EasyWDW gave both days a "3".

I can't tell what TP is giving next Tuesday/Wednesday, but EasyWDW is giving Tuesday a "2" and Wednesday a "1".

Based on that and the real-time wait times you and I saw yesterday and today, I'd go with next Wednesday.

Sounds like you just confirmed my suspicion. Granted, 3pm is not the best time to get to the MK :), but HM never really has a wait longer than 15 minutes when we usually go. In fact, looking at the wait times site right now, it has a wait time of 14 minutes at not quite 4pm. I have kept an eye on wait times these days both this week and last, and think it would be better to wait until Tues. Maybe if we feel like it we can hop over there Monday night, but if we did, it would just be to look around.

This is good news! We have AK planned for next Tuesday. Hoping for the same.

Agreed, I've already switched the Fastpasses. ;)

I saw the wait times yesterday and they definitely were not what I would consider to be either a 2 or a 3. Today seems great. I know I am over thinking at this point, but hey, that's what I do best. Plus, switching makes it a better day for AK anyway.

I think we will skip Illuminations at EP our first day and hop over to MK for Wishes and whatever FP we can get. Just keep going back and getting FP+ for the lesser rides. We aren't picky when we are at Disney. :)

we leave on Sat:cool1::cool1:

anyways what we usually do -and this works (at least for us even Aug)

is we plan on going to the parks that had late nite the nite before

so Sat the MK is open till 2AM so we're planning on MK on Sun

the wait times really have gone down since MLK weekend

its funny cause orgianlly I had wanted to go 1-24 through 1-29 but another girl had off that time also so I bumped ours up a week not thinking it was MLK
so then she needed to change her dates so I was very lucky and was able to change ours back to the orginal

after seeing the wait times am I ever glad I could change back

have a great safe trip--we'll have to compare notes when we get back

take care all

Have a great trip as well. Wish we could actually go into the parks on Sunday, but the weekday annual pass was just too good to pass up, so we'll stick with M-F. :)

Love my weekday APs too. Plus the fact that I got a discount through AAA made them even sweeter. Already have a spring trip booked for April, but I know we will do several day trips before then for F&G.

We're going next week too. Will arrive on Tuesday and briefly visit DHS and then be in MK on Wednesday - got to love a level 1 day!!! :cool1:

On my last trip, we waited till the third day to go to MK since it was supposed to be the best day, but DH and I got sick for the remainder of our trip and never made it to MK. I'll never wait again. Going to be my first day there in August!

Oh wow, were those Florida resident weekday annual passes? Didn't know you could get an additional discount.

Looks like we are all going next week.

Oh no! I am so sorry to hear that. I got so sick one day in the MK on our first day and we had to leave almost as soon as we got there. I felt so bad for the boys. Hope your next trip is better. We are going to hop over to the MK on our first park day evening for Wishes, but not rides. I think that is a good compromise.
