Is Victoria & Al's worth the price?

This is my favorite restaurant, I wish I was closer than 1900 miles! I have eaten here three times and totally love it, go very hungry there is a lot of food!

Where in IL are you from? Have you ever eaten at Charlie Trotter's? How about Blackbird? Either of Rick Bayless's places? How do they compare for you?

I don't drink red wine at all and the four times that I have been there, they have given wonderful white wine substitutes. Just ask and they will happily make other recommendations.

While I have not dined at Victoria and Albert's I will give it the benefit of the doubt in this respect: Even if you think you do not like something try it there. If their sommelier is any good, try his choices. Even if you normally only like reds, try his white pairs. Even if you hate tomatoes, try them if the serve them. Only list as allergies true allergies or religious dietary requirements. You will almost certainly get enough food that even if you do not eat everything you are given you will still not leave hungry.
