Is upgrading these tix to Park Hoppers worth it??

Upgrading them at the gate wouldn't have cost you more. You can "price bridge" third-party discount tickets and retain your discount. I would contact the company, tell them you didn't approve the upgrade (you had just called to see if it was even possible) and ask for your money and original tickets back. Then, decide if you want the PH option when you arrive at the parks and do the upgrade at a guest services window.

Yes and No. From what I read in the Tickets sticky, if the OP purchased the tickets before the price increase, Disney will price bridge to the OLD gate value, but then she would likely have to pay the difference between the old gate price and the new gate price + PH fee.

I went last year with no Park Hopper and regretted it the whole time. I would keep the Park Hoppers.

9 days is a long trip. If we had that many park days, we would not feel like we had to hop so I would cancel the hopper. The exception to this for me would be if I was staying at an EPCOT resort. Then I would want the hopper because it is so easy to hop to Epcot for dinner.

We have done trips with and without the hopper option. I like the hopper option it allows you some flexibility if you want to deviate from your plans. I particularly like it on longer trips, like yours. On short trips I don't like to waste a lot of time on the transportation needed to park hop
