We are going to WDW in less than two weeks. :banana:We have been many times and i have always been way too scared to go on Tower of Terror. This will be our last trip to WDW for a long time and i am wondering if i am missing out. Is it really all that scary? Or would i be better off waiting while the rest of the group went on it? I do not know what to do! :confused3 Any input would be appreciated! Thanks :)

Bark worse than bite.

Very fun and I always get off the ride saying "HEY, that wasnt that bad."

I also avoided TOT for many years although my DS always wanted to go on. I decided a few years ago that I should try it and since then the TOT is absolutely my favorite ride in the whole world (not just WDW).
Last June my DS (now 15) and I rode TOT 24 times during our 8 day stay. It is SOOOOOO much fun, especially with the random drop sequences.
Give it a try.....I think you will be as surprised as I was on how awesome and great the Tower of Terror really is. Not scary at all...just FUN!!!!!

I wouldn't say it is all that scary, just not what some people enjoy. We have ridden it before but it isn't one of our must do rides. I would try it once though just to see what it is.

Get over it! :teeth: I finally did and I wouldn't miss Tower anymore. I compare the feeling to that of hitting a dip in the road and you get that really intense feeling of butterflies because your stomach has just jumped.
Now take that feeling and sustain it for 4-5 seconds at a time -- that's the feeling of the drops and the lifts. Not scary at all... but definitely weird!

This ride is so much fun... once you've done it you'll want to go and do it again and again... Go for it

I say go for it! I am not a "thrill ride lover" - don't do roller coasters, but ToT I like. Another comparison for the drops would be when you are flying and you hit an "air pocket" and the plane drops suddenly...

I had originally planned to wait in line with DD and DFs, and walk through when they go on the ride to wait for them at the exit, but during the course of the wait, I was convinced to try it and was glad I did!

My parents went on TOT the first year it opened. I was terrified and refused to ride. There was no way anyone was getting me on that ride. Just last year I finally got up the nerve to ride it. I am so glad I did. I was scared walking up to the elevator. The feeling of falling is not one of my favorite feelings but I figured I could close my eyes, hang on for dear life, and scream until it ended. I didn't have to resort to my backup plan. It was so much fun! The random drops make it great! I was screaming the whole time but out of fun. Once it ended I was laughing and wanting to do it again. If you are even a little bit curious, I think you should give it a try. It isn't as bad as most people make it seem.

I wouldn't say it was scary.... but it does get your heart racing due to the drops. But it is a TON fo Fun!!! Probably 1 of my favorite rides in WDW.

I love ToT.
But I hate the unexpected.
So, my sister rode it first. And then told me exactly what was going to happen and when.
I rode it seven times consecutively :thumbsup2

I find this eliminates the worry of thinking you're going to "drop" when you're not and allowed me to enjoy the ride.

The first time I rode it I didn't think it was too bad. I actually was more scared riding it subsequent times becauseI knew when the drops were and I was tensing up. I really don't like that first little drop in the dark.

Just to let you know - I am not a total wimp. I love roller coasters and my favorite Disney Ride is the Rockin' Roller Coaster. I am just not a fan of free fall rides.

I'm not the bravest person in the world when it comes to rides, but I've gone on the TOT many times and it's a ton of fun. It's not scary, but it's really fun.

I say go for it :cool1:

What is scary is the fear of the unknown. I tell my son this all the time, he gets worked up before he goes on a ride for the first time. In his mind it is much worst than anything in the world. Once he gets off the ride, he says, "Let's do it again".

The first time is always the scariest.

Scary? No, not really at all. But like a martini in all the 007 movies...shaken not stirred! :teeth:
