Is Tour Guide Mike worth it?

:confused3 I have read the Unofficial Guidebook cover to cover. I have read through this forum almost non-stop. I am an experienced Disney traveler. I don't know if what he is selling is more of the same.
What is your advice?

Not sure. I still consider myself a newbie to WDW. That said....I find him totally worth it. I renewed after my first trip for the LCPCs alone. (Least Crowded Parks Charts)

My husband and I went to WDW 2 weeks ago. I knew TGM was worth the money when I was the only lady in the restroom at MGM! We were impressed with his least crowded park advice. He made a believer out of me.

How long is TGM good for? I know it says it is for one vacation only. What if you are not going to visit WDW until, for example, Dec 2008? Can you sign up now and it would be good for over one year? Or is any purchase good for no more than 365 days? Any info appreciated because I can't find this on the site. Thanks!

you can sign up now, no matter when your trip is, it's good for I believe 60 days after you return. you wont get your info refined until later next year but you can certainly learn a lot now since there is soooo much to read and you can learn stuff from their message board as well.

I do not think TGM is worth it. I found much of his information to be very out of date--and I mean by a lot--which is just inexcusable for an online service. Customer service is lousy, too. It took me three separate requests for a refund to finally get my membership refunded to me (though I did eventually get it back).

I much prefer the UG, and by following those plans, we never wait in line more than about 15 minutes even in July. TGM fans are very supportive of him, and there's a nice set of forums over there, but if you want good honest advice, and an updated website (which is current), stick with the UG and save your money.

I totally agree with you. The TGM site is WAY, WAY out of date. The MGM touring plans, for example, are almost 3 years old and don't include any current shows (like LMA). Most articles haven't been updated in over a year.

The Least Crowded Park Charts are worth it and updated for your particular dates, so if you want to pay $20 for those, then go for it. Just don't expect the rest of the info to be as current.

You're going to get a good debate between TGM supporters and UG fans in answer. In the end, the only way to decide is to try it out. It's completely refundable, so there's no risk in giving it a shot. If you're anything like me, you're always going to wonder about it until you actually try it out. So, my advice is to take the plunge and sign up. I really think you'll like it, even if it does end up only affirming what you already know/believe. If not, cancel and get your money back.
