Is Thrifty still operating at MCO okay?

They have good prices now and I am wondering how they are doing. I tried to join their program and they are having technical problems.

Maybe too late for you, but I just finished a week long rental from Thrifty. Car was a little higher mileage than a normal rental at 44000, other than that no problems. Straight to the booth in the ramp and I could have been out of there in 10 minutes had I not had to wait for a co-worker on another flight. Return took a long time last night, I think staffing is not where they'd like it to be for the amount of business they're doing now.

I've been wondering that myself. So many of the affordable places have terrible reviews and I've never rented a car from MCO.

My general rule is if they are actually at the airport you're ok, it's the ones that you have to take a shuttle to that concern me. This is speaking strictly about MCO.

We had a rental from 1/10 - 1/17. Our flight to MCO was delayed a couple hours. We got to MCO around 11PM, when we arrived to the Thrifty Desk we were met with a 45 minute long line. We had reserved a 6-passenger SUV & there were none left. The only 6-passenger vehicle left was 1 minivan. That wasn't a big deal for us, fortunately they had something. Our minivan had over 74,000 miles but ran good for the trip. The interior was cream colored and looked like it was used by a young family for 10 years even though it was a 2020. There were chocolate looking handprints and stains everywhere. It served it's purpose and got us where we needed to go & was by far the best price, but I definitely will hesitate to book with Thrifty next time.

Thanks for the info. That doesn’t sound good for our upcoming thrifty reservation in 2 weeks. I could do a pay now rental with Hertz for $44 more but I just hate to do a prepaid reservation.

When you say "desk", was that the counter at the terminal or the booth in the garage? For my first rental ever with Thrifty a week after yours, but pick up in the AM, I had no wait and a few cars to choose from in my class. I guess it all depends on timing. Even though the miles on my car were much lower than yours, I do agree that the cars seemed a little more "worn" for their age.
