We had discussed starting up a new thread -- by month -- starting today. Are we up for it? (I'd do it, but I will admit not being hip to all of the disboard rules for starting and placing discussions and I don't want to get warnings, yadda yadda.)

What's the best way to do that, logistically, so that new photos get posted in monthly threads and older ones can still be posted? I hope it's not too complex.

Maybe make a new post for example "The new is this you by month" and create a new post every month and copy the link into the the big post. This way all the months can be easily found in one post. I hope the way I said the that makes sense..

My concern then is that people will keep coming back to this post. There has to be somewhere to post older photos, right? And as this discussion gets buried, so will the thought of differentiated threads.

Can an admin change it to "Is this you? -- February 2011 and before"? I wonder.

That works if this thread is ending, but if it stays open to post the older pics, then the links would get buried.

Phew. Lot of pages and pictures to look through. I'm still looking, and haven't seen myself, family or friends in any of them yet.

I like the idea of starting a new thread for each month. Would make it simpler. The question has been asked how to do it so that the other threads don't get lost. If you don't mind, here's my 2 cents on how it can possibly be done.

Who ever starts the new thread, will put the links to the old threads on the first post. In the first post, state what the thread is about along with a few simple directions. Then on the 2nd post, start posting pictures.

Example of what to possibly put.

Thread Title: Is This You? March 2011.

This stems from the original "Is This You?" thread. Most of us here on the Disboards have been to WDW (or are planning on going to WDW), and have taken hundreds of photos. The object of this thread is to post photos from your past vacations and see if anyone recognizes himself/herself, family or friends in your photos. If you recognize yourself, family or friends from other people's photos, let us know "Hey, that's me."

If you plan on posting photos, please post only photos taken from March 1-31, 2011. Let us know the specific dates your photos were taken. Example: March 5th - March 15th. This will make it easy for anyone that traveled within this time period to look and see if they can see themselves or others they may recognize. If your vacation was split between two months (say March & April), post only the March photos here. When the April thread comes along, post the April photos there.

If you want to look at (or have photos to post) from previous months, click on the month/year you want to look at to take you to the appropriate thread. Each new month, we'll add all the old links until the last month of the year. When we start a new year, we'll only add the link for the last month (December 2011) to first month (January 2012) of the year; since December will have all the links.
