Just so you all know, that is my mother and father!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They weren't sitting because they were waiting for the parade, they were sitting because my mother was in pain. She had to have her appendix removed the next day at Celebration Hospital!!!!!!!!!!

We were actually in MK that day but left right before that downpour began. We were in our room by the time the rain hit. Do you remember how nice it was that night after the rain passed? It was SO comfortable. Very low humidity - maybe in the 70's. It was the first time we've experienced that at WDW in July!!!

DH and I have done that before...without ponchos (not at WDW, I would've had ponchos there). We went to Harrisburg (PA) for July 4 fireworks and got a great seat and waited like 1.5 hours. Then it got stormy dark. They announced they were still going to have the fireworks, after the short downpour that was coming. So we sat through a thunderstorm along the shore of the Susquehanna River...so WE WOULDN"T LOSE OUR SPOT! Okay, so we are drenched and ready for fireworks! Then they announce, the radar shows one more batch of rain, but then it should be clear. So we sit through another downpour of rain! Then they announce there were more storms popping up, so the fireworks were going to be postponed until the next day!

Even with all the rain, I still wish I was there on July 17.

When looking at our Disney photos, I have often wondered about the other people in our photos and wondered what photos I must be in that other people have in their albums.

Maybe it's time for a new thread about the other people in the background of our photos.

Well, ok, no, it's not, but I'm totally in that picture. I must've just gotten up from MY parade spot!!

You can see me standing right behind them. I'm wearing the green top with the clear poncho on. I was sitting next to those folks holding the spot for my family, willing the rain to stop in time for us to see it.

Yeah, it didn't. It was a little damp for quite some time.

The day I lie about sitting in the pouring rain with a cheap plastic poncho plastered to my soaking wet body waiting on a curb for a cancelled parade to begin is the day you need to direct me straight to Universal.
