I called to check available for OHana breakfast for party of 4. All booked up every time I call.

I just called and the CM says "I have several tables for 6. Do you have friends that can join you?" So I said yes and she booked me. She said "Oh that's great." It seemed like she wanted me to go along with it.

Is that wrong? When I show up with just 4 people will it be a big problem?? :confused3

It's just a lie...no big deal right??

I hope the cast member doesn't get QD'd....she will get fired.

And yes, it will be a slight problem because you will have to wait for a table of 4.

:)

Nope, your friends overslept and couldn't make it.

It happens

This is the same thing as booking a table for four, for two people. And there have been MANY-a-threads on this hot topic, and all have come to the conclusion that if Disney wants to continue using an unfair system, then the DISers shall continue with the numerous unexplained absences of their friends.

My IL's did have a trip planned but they had to cancel. There's my excuse. ;)

I never would have thought they would have availability for a larger group. I have also not been ableto get breakfast at ohana for entire trip.

So we are going to try for O'hannas to but its only my self and my DS,I wonder If i could get away saying the other 4 In our party slept In?:rotfl2:.I would hope they do not ask me to wait for them to wake up!.
But really If O'Ohannas has a table for 6 and not 4 they are going to wait awhile before they fingd the magical party #.

If you want to PM me the time and date of your reservation, I will be happy to volunteer to be one of those friends on your reservation who overslept (this works best on weekends, since I doze off and on all weekend).

No, I don't think it's unethical at all. I have been encouraged by CM's to make ressies for a party of 4 when there were none available for a party of 3. Which I now know were all taken by DIS'ers with a party of 2....:lmao:

When we were there in OCt 08, we weren't able to get tables for our party of 6--thanks you guys, just kidding!! Anyway, when we got there instead of sitting us at the 3 tables of 2, we had a table of 6, so I think they figure it out for you.;)

When DH, DS, and I have made reservations as a party of 3, we've been told by CM's that they were adding an infant to the reservation because they had only tables for 4 left that they weren't supposed to use for 3. I thought it was sort of silly that they had this policy, and so did the CM making the reservations...

As for being a table of 6 with only 4 showing up, you won't have any trouble most places. We were a party of 5 with only 3 showing up for a dinner ADR in January, and they had no trouble seating us. DM and her DF really did decide at the last minute that they were just too tired for a long, sit down dinnerat that point, and certainly no one gave us any trouble at all.

SEADD67: Call back and see if they have a table for 3! Ohana does have some 3 seaters, I've had them!

I see no problem.

Their friends are running late...just get seated, order drinks and browse the menu...

Oh no! Just got a text that they cant make it! Well let's order!

you shouldn't have too much trouble...we had our numbers for our ADRs change a couple of times during our last trip.

One night we had 2 ADRs, 1 for 3ppl and 1 for 4ppl. It was our family and another family dining together but we couldn't get one large ADR. When the day of the ADR rolled around my one dd ended up sick and our 4 turned into 2!!! When we went to the podium at CP we told them and they were able to give us a table for the 5 of us that were remaining all together.

Then later in the trip my dh had to go home early due to work. We had an ADR for CRT for the 4 of us and when we got there it was just my 2dds and myself. I told them that dh was unable to make it and was expecting to have to absorb the cost of my dh's meal since it was prepaid and has a 24hr cancellation policy. It was absolutely no problem...they seated us right away and they server brought us a gift card in the amount of dh's meal. He said that they couldn't refund the meal but provided us with the gc instead...I was more than happy!

Thanks everyone. As long as they don't turn us away I'll be fine. We will probably show up a few minutes early just to let htem know about the 4 instead of 6.

I agree that it's not unethical...I just don't understand why the reservation system does what it does...A party of 3 sits at the same size table as a party of 4...so why aren't they interchangable?

Go for it...I had actually booked all of my ADR's with too many people because we had people planning on joining us...but, when they finally told me they weren't coming, I called back and was able to change them...but if they told me I couldn't change it, I would have pulled..."Oh, DH and DD (no daughter here) became ill and stayed at the resort..."

Enjoy!

When we were down 2 weeks ago we went to the concierge at our resort to get reservations for the Prime Time for 3 of us. She said there weren't any for 3 but she booked us for 4 (we didn't ask her to). That just doesn't make any sense. I don't remember them having any tables there for just 3 people anyway. When we got there we just had to tell them that there were only 3 of us. We didn't tell them why.

For my last trip, I made a ton of ADRs for 9 because we were traveling with multiple families. At least 5 times, one or both of the other two families didn't show up with us, so our party would be as small as 3 people with an ADR for 9. Not once were we ever questioned about it, so I wouldn't worry about not having the right number of people when you check in.

My friend is going the week before us (both going in March) and I told her about asking for 6 instead of 4. She called yesterday and got a table also. She's been trying to call for 4 weeks with nothing.
