BAY LAKE, FL (Kingdom Kryer) -- Due to the Danskin Triathlon on Sunday, May 18th at the Magic Kingdom Park, the Extra Magic Hour has changed from Sunday, May 18th to Monday, May 19th at the Magic Kingdom Park.

Disney's Animal Kingdom will host the Extra Magic Hour on Sunday May 18th as opposed to their normal scheduled day.

Just wondering if anyone heard this as well...

Yikes!!! I hope we can walk in the parks this next weekend. First Star Wars, now a triathlon...boy are they gonna be crowded.

I KNOW! That was my exact thought...
I planned to do breakfast at 1900 park fare on that monday and then go to MK...but now that it has a EMH that day, should I bother? I am leaving that Monday...any thoughts?

2003 Danskin Women’s Triathlon is May 17, 2003! In it's fourth year at Walt Disney World, this one-day women's Triathlon consists of a ¼ mile swim through the Seven Seas Lagoon, a 10 mile bike ride from the Magic Kingdom to Reams Road returning to Magic Kingdom for a 2 mile run through the park.

The event is focused around individuals who have been affected by breast cancer in some manner. The event benefits the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Participants can register online at www.Danskin.com download an entry form or, on-site at the Expo Registration on May 17th. Registration Fee: $65/ $70 on-site


On 5/17 & 5/18 parking at Magic Kingdom will be complementary when the participant shows their race number. On 5/18 spectators will not be charged if they arrive prior to 7:00am. Primary spectator area will be on the West Beach area at Magic Kingdom.
Road Closures: Road closures and detours will occur from Floridian Way, Center Dr., Reams Rd, Lake Hancock and at the bike turnaround at Ficquette Rd. These roads will be used for the event from 0600 and return to normal operation by 1000. Everyone should expect delays if they use these routes.

This is in fact true.
It starts at 6 am and should conclude at 9 am...Early Entry is at 8. the CM we just spoke to said there is no change in the Early Entry to Monday as far as they know right now...that could change I am sure.
