Not everything is perfect, I'm sure we've all heard of unsafe rides at just about every park, Disney, Universal, Busch Gardens, Six Flags. We're all human.flortlebap said:Chewing gum and duct tape!!
Anyway hearing that the back up came apart is enough to tell me not to ride - IMO it's very lax of Universal to allow it to happen. It just sounds like another tale of unsafe rides at Universal
I'm amazed Dudley Do Right is still running with the amount of injuries there have been on that thing. It's more painful than fun!!!
Here I go sounding like an anti Universal trollI do like it really, it just worries me to hear of unsafe rides. And FYI I don't do state fairs either

flortlebap said:I agree about M:S - that thing should have been shut down a long time ago.
flortlebap said:I've just read that apparently there have been some problems with the seat restraints on Duelling Dragons - that they've been coming loose mid ride?!?!
Can anyone confirm or deny this?
LukenDC said:This happened to me once at Six Flags America and I have not returned to that park since. At first I thought that it was my imagination. I was sitting in the back car and when I got off, the two people in the front car reported the same situation and one of them was crying hysterically from fear. I will never forget it.

Yeah! I once went to a technology demonstration at Magic Kingdom and something went wrong with the teleporter! Some alien got loose and wreaked havok! At least they shut that ride down...cybertheo said:I was riding this elevator at Disney/MGM studios and it fell --in darkness-- over and over. Ill never ride in that elevator again

flortlebap said:That's horrible!! And Six Flags is still running...
Tell me, what happened? How did they come loose, did you have a back up seatbelt that kept you in?
F-L-A said:I'm wondering how many people understand the physics of roller coasters. I can tell you, the bulky restraints are there to make you feel safe. They aren't necessary. As long as the coaster takes it's inversions with appropriate speed, you ain't going anywhere.
LukenDC said:This incident occured on the type of rollercoaster where the cars are suspended from above. As we were going down the hill and approaching the first loop, I felt the shoulder harness that comes from overhead give way. It was still secured, however, by a belt that came up between my legs and locked into the harness. That belt was suddenly quite taut. I pulled the harness down and pressed it hard into my body for the remainder of the ride.
After I and the people in the first car explained our experiences to the ride operators, the rollercoaster was closed for the remainder of the day.
