Is this true??? Soarin' to leave Epcot in 6mths.

It would be foolish too remove what is easily one of the most popular, if not the most popular, attraction in Epcot. It cost so much to build that it won't be moved.

They can change the film on this ride rather easily. Disney spent a great deal of money remodeling the Land for this ride and it will not be going any place. The film may change but the ride will be there

My brother was in Epcot on Thursday. He said he was in line with someone from England and they said that Soarin' was going to be moved to Disneyland in France. I find this hard to believe. Has anyone else heard this???

Ahh hello!! Soarin' came to EPCOT from California Disney, they built a seperate location at EPCOT and they will build the same at Disneyland Paris, Tokyo and Hong Kong . They might change the movie they show though.

I would love a new movie there. Although the one of Cali is beautiful, Soarin' over the World or over the USA would be awesome. I seriously doubt it's going anywhere, with normal lines averaging 2 hours, I think it's a hit for the park.

I know I had read somewhere on this board- or maybe Intercot's that they were actually considering updating the Canadian Pavilion because you could see part of the soaring building past the mountains and it was spoiling the facade.

That was a huge discussion point while they were building it. If you looked over that way from the American Adventure area it was all you could see. It stood out like a sore thumb. What they did was paint it, for lack of the official name, horizon blue. It is still visible but it is not anywhere near as horrid as everyone expected. I suspect that given a few years there will be trees covering most of the show building, but it is not really jumping out at you now.

Please don't flame me here if this is untrue because I won't be there until Sept. to view for myself. That comment though would make it seem that Soarin' is staying.

On the other hand I would be VERY pleased if they DID overhaul the Canadian Pavilion.

When Soarin' was being built there was talk of a Brother Bear themed log ride being planned for Canada that would block the view of Soarin' from the World Showcase. But I haven't heard anything mentioned about this for quite some time now. I think that would be a great addition to Canada. Perhaps this idea was left on the drawing board due to the limited success of that movie and the fact that Soarin' didn't quite turn out to be the eyesore many had predicted.

When the original concept for the attraction was presented to M.E., he ordered that plans were to be made immediately to put Soarin' into all four ( yeah, only four back then!) parks.

The thinking at the time was that eventually, each park would have a different, "local themed" presentation. "Eventually" was an emphasized point!

Although the WDW version would surely include the majestic mountain range of Clermont, Florida, the finished presentation would probably be sights from the right side of the country. Perhaps this thought has now been changed to include wonders of the world so it could be shown at all venues worldwide.

I don't discount the rumour that Soarin' is being moved to Disneyland Paris. I'm sure they will hype that somehow. BUT, it is a new one, not the one here. If you've ever had anything shipped from Disney, you'll understand it would be cheaper to build a new one in Paris, than to ship them ours!

Anyway... you can count on Soarin' to still be at WDW when you are there.
