Is this true? Re: activating AP on blockout day?

I remember reading somewhere that if you activate your AP on a blockout day, you can still go to the parks that day? I bought Deluxe APs from giftcardmall.com and I'm wondering if I can activate and enter parks on a Saturday that is blocked out. Thanks!
