I'm no expert on this dining package and would need some info, here it goes: I would like to book a full week in September and benefit of the free dining plan for my family of 4 (hubby, me, twin boy 4, twin girl 4) And read somewhere on the disboard that you only have to purchase a 1 day park ticket of each of the guests and get a full week of dining for free!!!! Or do I have to purchase a full week of Park tickets? My plan would be to start the booking with the 1 day ticket and then add on maybe 3 more days when I get to the resort. Because too many park days is way to much for my little ones and just want to relax the other days by the pool and dining at the restaurants and visiting them at the same time. :cheer2:

That is correct. For travel dates between 8/13 - 9/30 you can book a package and get free dining. You have to pay full price (rack rate) for the room and buy at least a one day base ticket for everyone in your party.

That is correct.
However, if you plan on eating inside the parks you need a park ticket to get in.

That is right...good deal...but know that you will pay about $100 EACH for a one day ticket...I looked at doing that for our upcoming trip. OUCH! But with the free dining plan it is a great deal!!

'the booking with the 1 day ticket and then add on maybe 3 more days '

Just keep in mind that the difference between a 4-day pass and a 9-day pass is less than $14 for adults (less than $10 per child). Disney really offers a deal for each day after 4 days, so even if it's just to stroll thru Epcot and eat dinner there, it might be worth just getting the extra days.

Either way, have a great time!

How is a one-day base ticket $100? The ticket listings I've looked at say the one-day base ticket is $67.10.

I'm planning to purchase a one-day ticket for my friend and upgrading when we get to the resort. This will cost her about $12 more than buying a 5 day ticket in advance, but that's not bad for 6 days of free dining!

According to www.disneyworld.com...

a 1 day park hopper (maybe you don't want the park hopper pass) with tax is $109.70 for adults and $97.98 for children.

a 1 day pass...no park hopping is $67.10 for adults and $55.38 for kids.

Personally I can't imagine not being able to park hop, but if you are doing it from the stand point of that free dining obviously you would get it without hopping.

I'm just the opposite...I can't imagine paying sooooo much more for the tickets just to be able to park hop. There's so much to do in the parks that I have no need to hop around...all that does is waste daylight as far as I'm concerned.

Last week we did a 4-day pass without the hopper option. We did one park each day. If we had the hopper option I know we would have never used it.

can you get the dining plan with an annual pass? i thought i remember it being mentioned before. but they say you pay rack room rates with the dining deal, so would you have to do the 1 day ticket thing? so many details!!!! ;) i tried to call disney, but i was on hold way too long, i know one of you experts out there must know. thanks!

I confirmed this today. You use the 1-day base ticket towards the purchase of your next AP. Please refer to the link below for the specifics.

If you aren't planning on purchase an AP the following year, then you need to purchase a one-day pass at full price for each hotel guest. You can use your AP for the other days. It's definitely still worth it in my opinion, as long as you're planning to stay for a few days.

Ok I understand,,,, but when I will call tomorow to reserve my hotel can I book a 4 day park ticket package and get free dining or do I have to purchase a 1 day park ticket?

Okay, on a one-day ticket it's really not worth paying for the hopper option. But given that the cost for this is $30 across the board ($32.70 with tax), on a ten-day ticket it averages out to $3.27 per day to hop! Even the no-expiration option, which is priced according to the number of days on your pass, is 'only' about $14 extra per day on a ten-day pass. Hold off on your next trip for a few years and you'll most definitely come out ahead :teeth:

Just wanted to relay my experience. I'd already booked 2 rooms at Pop Century in August for 8 nights, 4 adults and 1 child. We'd already purchased 4 9-day tickets and an annual pass. Then I read about the free dining.

I called Disney and they said yes, just purchase 1 base ticket for each person and we'll rebook the whole thing with the free dining.

End result - The room only reservation had been $1499, and now it's $1729 So, we paid $230 extra for Dining for 5 people for 8 nights. Holy COW! That's a great deal. That's 40 table service, 40 counter service and 40 snacks for $230. Would've been less had we not already purchased tickets but geesh! I'm still really excited. $230 is less than the cost of the 1-day tickets, so it had a significant discount on the room as well.

Only conflicting info I received is that one cast member told me the 1-day tickets could be used anytime, another said it would have to be used on this trip or be lost. Either way it's still a great deal.
