Is this taboo?

Can an adult order a kids meal or is this frowned upon? I often cannot eat the big WDW meals. Has anyone ever ordered a kids meal at a TS restaurant? Are there any places that you have had problems with this? I do sometimes order 2 appy's instead of an entree.

At most Disney-run restaruants I think you can. But at third-party places it may vary as to whether they will allow you.

I don't think you can do this at most TS restaurants. CS it isn't going to matter, and buffets they'll charge you based on being an adult any ways.

I don't think you can. My friends and I tried to order mozzarella sticks off the kids menu (as an appetizer) and they said no

My son is a picky eater. We have always been allowed to order off the children's menu- BUT we ask for an adult portion. i always tell them to charge me for an adult meal that is comparable. Some wait staff do and some do not. Some will only charge for the kids meal. It is hit or miss.

At Disney owned and operated a la carte restaurants, for the most part, you can. This must be one of the most frequently asked questions here At buffets, dinnner shows and all you care to eat restaurants you will be charged as an adult no matter how much or how little you eat.
It is up to the server as they certainly are within their rights to say no. The menus clearly state that the kids menu is for ages 3 - 9.

We've done it with no problems so far (our adults and teenagers have ordered from the kid menu at some point each trip). When we were on the dining plan they made adult sized servings of the kid menu item, when we paid OOP we just got the actual kid meal and paid the kid price.
