We had to pick and choose our restraunts for Free dining and one that we couldn't fit in this time is 50's prime time. We are taking 2 of our grandkids this year and would love to go and just have desert and pay oop, just so they can see the atmosphere and antics. Is this frowned upon since there are so many people trying to get ressies with the FD? Do you think the CM's would hate waiting on us if they know that we are only doing deserts?

Has anyone done this here? If so how were you treated and what is the best desert?

Thanks for your help.

We've done that very thing, and had s'mores. No one hit us, so I guess it was OK. ;)

I can't comment on Disney, but when I was a waitress I loved people who came in for just a quick snack. You can get a few extra dollars with a relatively quick table turnover and not a lot of work. Plus I always found customers who came for dessert to be the most fun to wait on. Something about dessert just makes everyone happy.

You can definitely book it that way. One place we love to do this is at Sci Fi. The desserts are great but the entrees (except burgers) not so much. DGS (4) loves the Sci Fi. I may try the 50's PT next time though as their desserts look really good. Did not enjoy our experience for dinner some time back so have not booked again.

if i remember correctly someone asked basically the same thing recently and was told that yes, you can just order dessert...

We plan on doing it for sci fi...Well, DH and DD's...Im going to splurge and get an adult beverage for my dessert lol :)

Totally agree....and I am a server:thumbsup2 Just do not go during the peak lunch and dinner hours:goodvibes

Here is a report of a pair that went to Bistro for desserts only. Definitely not a problem.

yep you can do that - I told the CM when I made my ADR and she said that was no problem and noted it was for dessert as she said you can only make 3 reservations per day

The 3 reservations per day is definately not correct, we've booked more then 3 per day under one room reservation/phone number.

Definitely go ahead and do that. It is a good way to experience a new restaurant without the full expense of the meal, and the server will not suffer as they will turn your table over more quickly. Just be sure to be generous - even though it is only "just dessert" it is still a table service experience and should get the full tip. I think you'll have a lot of fun doing this!!
